I've just noticed the dreaded red skeleton on four of my hubs. When I checked to see what the violations were, it says that at least 3 of our fellow hubbers have violations on their, I guess, website.  Not sure what this means.  Can someone please explain all of this to me.

Hi freta, Not sure what that means...but no fun getting hit with the dreaded red skeletons. You may be able to get a direct answer from Hub Pages staff if you email them. Good luck with that!

If I understand you right, you're saying that when you look on your Hubs, the offending links are to other Hubs?

If that's the case, then it's more than likely just a glitch.  Try checking for violations again and see if it goes away.

Not a glitch, I triple checked and it's still there.

Do you mean you clicked on "check for violations now" on your Stats page?

Yes I did that 3 times and it still came back the same way.  I also checked each hub individually, and that's when it brought up the names of each hubber that was supposedly at fault.

I've got them too fastfreta. It's not a glitch so much as rogue ads on the site. HP said on another thread that they have got it under control. I am still showing at least 2 red skulls across all my subs.

And it's still a glitch.  I suggest leaving it for now as a lot of hubs seems to be tripping this filter.  And that is clearly an error.

I have at least one with supposed links to spammy sites. Unless Amazon or Ebay are now considered spammy , then it must be a glitch.

You are not alone! Two of my hubs have red skulls - first time ever on HP - and it's very annoying. Is this a Christmas gift from someone? I went through the first hub and unlinked all of my comments box links which seems to have got rid of the warning written on the Hub. However, the red skull is still there on the account so I don't know if it's fixed yet.

I'm looking into other hubs written on this subject - to do with malware and viruses and what have you -  and am currently a bit confused!

Hope this goes away. Let us know how things go for you.

I have a red skull of doom as well, saying my hub links to a malware or phishing site. I'm afraid to open the hub to fix it!

I have a red skeleton too.  The hub has a link to Simone Smith's profile page, which I read does have a problem, so I am going to leave it alone for now.

One of mine has problems with Simone's subdomain too. I am just ignoring the warning. HP will sort it in due course, I am sure smile

I have a TON of hubs that now have red skeletons. When I look at the individual hub, there's information saying my site (as in a link to my own hubs) may have malware. However, I followed the directions and loaded it into the Google Webmaster tools, and it says it finds nothing for phishing or malware on my site. I even fetched one of the affected URL's, which also said it didn't find any phishing or malware on the page. So, I'm hoping it's a fluke, but it's definitely got me very nervous. Any suggestions?

This is a known issue.  It's a bug, and it has happened before, so don't panic.
