   If anyone ever tells you that in a pinch you should run around with your head cut off and go out and get a low wage job in order to bring money your way or have none and the person telling you is your employer who is paying their employees as 1099s as opposed to W2 – what would you do?

      The answer to this question does not necessarily stand in the question asked. In the answer is just one choice.  That does not mean there are not other choices.

         You can't expect us to comment on stuff you haven't told us about. When comparing no job to low paying job, the latter seems preferable, all other things being equal.

            Everything else is immaterial. The most important items were given in the original question - employer behavior in providing the employee with a solution (that they want you to get another job because perhaps there is no money), 1099 and W2.  That the fact that just because someone gives you one choice, does that mean that there are not more choices available.

                  I did not say the employers advice was invalid, but there is more to this then just advice. This question has a lot do with business ethics.

                     If you want to talk about business ethics you could do it without linking in the advice he gave you.  Otherwise I can only assume your intent is what I have already suggested.
