Author markup not shown

   Rich snippet test shows author markup not found on two hubs. My photos no longer show on search pages. As I understand it, rel=author is not shown. Is that correct?. Please give me direction.

   Which hubs?  What's shown in the testing tool will not necessarily be what appears in search.

   This is the other one I have checked. I don't think any of mine have the author markup. Last I knew, someone from staff said that everything was ok with HP, and that Google may have chosen not to feature photos from HP. I need some direction to see if it is now a bug in HP. Previously, other hubbers and myself had photos on search pages.

      I am facing the same problem of author markup. Only my primary blog when displayed in search results shows my profile photo . Sometimes search pages show my profile photos along with each and every post. I am not providing the URL of my blog posts. However my articles at HubPages display me as verified author in search results :

         The markup is correct on your Hub, so just as with brakel2 it's Google's decision that you are seeing.

      If you look at the structured data testing tool for that URL you can see the author markup is correct, and the preview shows the photo.  That's all we can really do.  Google decides with each individual search which results to show author markup for.  They definitely do not show it all the time, and I believe it's intentional on their part to not show it sometimes.

         Do you do something to ensure that our content connects to our profile?  I thought HP added a code: rel=author. Thanks for your help.

            If you follow the link above, you'll see this which means that Google already has all the information to connect your content with your profile:

            What I'm saying is, despite that, in the actual search results Google may still choose not to actually display the author information.  There is nothing to be done about that, except maybe complain to Google.

               Paul - Thank you for all your help with this issue.  I have seen complaints recently on the web about authors' profiles not showing up on search pages. At least we know HP staff has done their part for us. Have a great New Year.
