Vespawoolf- Do you have your profile settings set to "show only featured hubs on profile?"  If so, I'm sure that is probably why. Are they still in pending status? Hope this helps!

No, I've never had this problem before. As soon as I publish hubs they're supposed to show on the profile page. I'm sure it's just a temporary glitch, though. Thanks for your help!

You are welcome! Glad I could be of help. I had my own trouble a little while back... my profile was somehow changing the setting itself back and forth so I always check back now and then to make sure it's still set where I want it.

Jamie Brock, you're right. Sure enough, the profile setting was set just like you said. So strange--I never noticed this problem before. Thanks so much for your help!

If the setting was causing the problem, then your Hubs are idled. Which means they're invisible to search engines, even if you choose to show them on your profile.  If you're hoping to earn any income from your Hubs, you need to fix that.

Marisa, none of my hubs are idled. I published 3 new hubs today. I have to wait 24 hours until they become visible to search engines.

Just checking, do you understand what idled means? Or did I miss something in how you fixed your problem?

A Hub can be in one of three states:  idled, pending or Featured.   It's pending just after it's been published, until it goes through the QAP (quality assessment process).    If the QAP decides your Hub is good, your Hub becomes Featured (i.e. it will show a H next to it on your account page).   If the QAP decides your Hub isn't quite good enough, there will be no H showing next to it, which means it is idled - i.e. permanently invisible to search engines unless you improve it.

Your profile is set to hide idled Hubs.   You said some of your Hubs weren't showing, and when you changed that setting you could see them again - which means they must be idled, or that setting wouldn't have had any effect.

Marisa, if you had read my initial comment you would have seen that my hubs were idled because I had just published them. Hubs are idled for the first 24 hours after they're published. So yes, 3 are idled for that reason. I know all about idled hubs. I do read.

And by the way, I also earn money. :   )

      Oops, missed that bit, sorry.

I come across a lot of people who don't visit the forums much, and therefore miss a lot of the discussions.  I haven't seen you around lately so I was concerned you might be in that category.  In fact, I'm finding myself in the same boat over at Zujava right now, because they seem to have introduced a heap of new rules I didn't know about!  Glad it's all sorted for you.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I really didn't mean to sound snippy.

In my year at HubPages I've learned a lot, but I still struggle with technical issues and terminology. It's not something I enjoy, either, which makes it worse.

Anyway I really appreciate everyone's help, especially those who've been here for a long time and frequent the forums to help others. Thank you!

Yes, it is hard to keep up with everything. My terminology was confusing on this thread. I should have said "pending" instead of "idled". I'm a silent visitor of the forums and often don't leave comments because I don't usually have much to contribute with only one year at HubPages! I do see a lot of yours and your comments are always meaningful. I'll look into Zujava. New rules, oh no!
