Sick and tired of a certain hubber burying my feed everyday

   The hubber in question is not a bad person.
   
   But every d@@m day she buries my feed in shares about things I don't want to see. The fact that I can't stand her avatar doesn't help either.
   
   I'm not following her and I've tried everything possible with the feed filters.
   
   I've given up.
   
   I'm herewith un-following everything and everyone to see if that stops it. If it does, I will then start re-following items and hubbers one at a time.

      You can change your settings so that you can just not see anything from her (while still being a follower)...
      
      Just use the arrow next to her posts in your Feed.

         My feed is also consumed by one Hubber's Shares. When I follow the  green arrow the only option is to Follow or Unfollow the Hub, not the person who shared it. Am I missing something? Thanks, HB.

               No you are not alone. This has been an ongoing issue for me. Some people just don't think about what they are doing I supposed. I Unfollowed all topics so my feed was empty and am adding them back one by one. I don't want to do that though. We need a solution to the problem.

            Take a look at the "filters" on your feed.  You have to edit each one individually, which is intensely annoying, but you may find you're following a lot of things - like status updates, or posts from people who follow you, or Hubs you don't want to follow - because things are checked in the filters that you don't want.

                  Good question, since they changed things about I often wonder where things have moved to. I really do not miss not seeing the feed as it is irritating at times and I never use it anyway.

      para......It's a plot......maybe a scientific experiment,  a test, it is only a test....were this a real issue, you'd have been notified how to avoid it.   
      I am feelin your pain......what the HELL is that weird looking avatar, anyway??   It's rather annoying, but I'm learning to whiz past it all.   Yes, she is nice enough......just a little over-the-top, with more than just the "shares."

      This is the problem.  I don't pay attention to mine either because I don't follow 90% of the hubs listed on my feed.  I have limited time to read hubs,  so when I visit a hub I like for that hub to be from my followers... not the followers of my followers.   I thought the feed was supposed to give us easy access to writers that we follow, but it has become a spam page full of shared stories and new hubbers.  In moderation that would be fine.  How about limiting the amount of shares per day, or at least give us a filter option to remove all of the shares.

Don't wanna say the name, but she seems to share everybody's stuff, even things I have no interest in, and I have tried to block stuff. I simply just mostly ignore my feeds. Which means that I sometimes will miss good stuff.

    I had that problem once and I unfollowed the person and hid them in my feed. It did work, but it seems like it took a day to take effect. Sorry, paradigm, it's bound to work at some point, huh? Well, I agree with whoever said that this has been an entertaining feed. Sorry, paradigm, as it's at your expense. heehee Really, I am sorry. Hope you figure this out!

    Everyone knows this thread is about GMWilliams, and my Hubpages feed is also quite imbalanced with respect to posts/hubs/comments/questions that are shared by her.  If I scroll down the feed now, it's about 80% stuff shared by her, and 20% stuff shared by other people.
    
    First off, I just want to say the problem isn't her, but some hidden mechanism that we can't control.  I have tried unfollowing her and unfollowing people who follow her, but still I see everything she shares.  My best guess is that if people follow both you and her, then you will see her stuff.  And since you can't control who follows you, therein lies the problem.
    
    The feed should be set up so that you only see hubs/posts/comments/questions by people you are following and comment/forum threads you are following and that's it.  The way it is, it seems to be showing you stuff by people who are more distantly "related" to you in the follower/following scheme. 
    
    I don't think limiting how much you can share per day is a nice solution, since GMWilliams apparently finds many things worth sharing and that's her prerogative.
    
    I also see all of paradigmsearch's activity and I'm not following him either.

    For what it's worth if staff is monitoring this thread, which I highly doubt, I did try the suggestions in the help center article on filtering your feed

    but none of it worked.  I wonder if one of the technical staff could chime in on the algorithm that determines what is shown in the feed and what's  not.  The bottom line is that unfollowing a person and his or her activity does not prevent it from showing up in your feed.

       I take that back. The hubs are not random. They actually appear to be carefully picked for their hilarious titles. I love it even more, now.

    I've not experienced this particular problem.. (luckily).  I do share things, but only a couple a week usually, sometimes less, rarely more.

    Oh, the irony.... I've unfollowed this thread on my feed, tried "hide this story," unfollowed on email, yet it pops up in notifications and, yes, in my feed. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Hello.

    PDS, did you find the solution to this problem? I read this entire LOOONG thread and did not find an answer. I followed someone about six months ago but when I noticed that she shared every single thing she read, I unfollowed. Despite that, her "shares" keep showing up. Any ideas?

       That was a fun thread.
       
       Go to your feed. Click on filter. Unfollow absolutely everything. Give it a while for it to take effect. Then gradually start re-following what you wish, until the problem resurfaces.
       
       "Followers of or by you" can be particularly deadly.
       
       Also, click the "X" next to each post when applicable for additional options.

          Tnanks for letting me know, PDS. I was sorry to unfollow her since she seems like a nice person and a good writer, but when she logs on my whole feed will just be what she is reading. She even shares HOTD! (I think she read one of those hubs that said "share a lot and everyone will share your hubs.)

    I too had a "serial sharer" clogging up my feed with all sorts of random crap... I finally had enough of it and unfollowed the person.
