Question of life

   Has anyone really got the answer of his life from reading holy books like Bhagwad Gita, Quran and Bible. We must check out if they really answer current scenario problems.

      My answer is Yes.   The Bible is not only a "religious" book, but is the history of mankind.
      So, indeed it is the best explanation of the meaning of not just my life, but all of mankind's.

         I don't really want to sound argumentative, but how do you know that the Bible is the history of mankind, and how can you generalise that it's the explanation for the meaning of life for all mankind, when not all mankind believes in God and the Bible?

            Well, as soon as a monkey or an evolved atom of some type comes to me and tells me vocally that they're my cousin and shows me a picture album of our ancestors,  or ANY other proof of human history other than the Genesis account, I'll reconsider.
            I ain't holdin' my breath waiting for it.
            
            And I'm not generalizing at all.   It's a fact that God made the first man Adam from the dust of the earth which He had previously made.  There is no other plausible explanation to be found anywhere on earth or in the skies or anywhere.   Common sense and common knowledge is sometimes (often, really) proof of things.   Each day,  the cycle of life continues;  every human can see that.   The cycle of death continues too.   Yet nowhere has anyone ever seen a cycle where a tiny indefineable particle of non-humanity turned into a human being,  nor have they seen an ape evolve into a human being,  nor have they seen any other species turn into a human being,  nor have they seen any human being turn into any other species  (although some people want to act like some other species! ha).   Nor has anyone ever seen one species of any type turn into a different species. 
            
            I'm really not worried about the opinions of those who don't believe in the Biblical account of Creation,  because they're too busy trying to even figure out how to define "species",   and they look futilely toward the day when some "scientist" will dig up the bones of something and try to label it a missing link to humanity.   Oh, wait!  I think they've already done that and had to admit there was no proof whatsoever.

               With respect Brenda, but has your view of evolution been entirely shaped by Christian creationist opinion? Or have you ever just parked your literal interpretation of Genesis and actually looked into evolution with an objective set of fresh eyes with no recourse to preconceptions?
               
               The problem is that creationists are not scientists so we can't expect them to objectively look at the evidence. There are however plenty of well respected scientist who are Christians and who also endorse evolution.

               All that you've managed to do, Brenda, is to prove an incomprehensible ignorance of science, evolution and the scientific method.  You don't know anything about how the process works, so, in your ignorance of reality you insert a god.
               
               While it's not rare or surprising, it is sad.  There are these things called books that explain things that we don't yet understand until we read them.  You stopped at one.  One that is completely incompatible with science, I might add.  You didn't bother reading or gaining knowledge anywhere else, but still confidently assert that you're right.  How do you know when you haven't bothered even the most basic study in anything else?

            Of course, it's not and not one could ever honestly promote the idea that it is.  The bible may well be the history of one very small and localized tribe of humans (a very politicized, modified and glorified history as most histories are), a history of humanity it is not.

   I don't really think you can get the answer for such a thing from books, whether or not those books are related to religion. I think finding out the meaning of your life comes from living it, and discovering that for yourself.

      The veil that covers the truth about The Book has been held over humanity for a long time. And this blindness goes back long before the Book (Torah, Gospel, Qur'an) was given to humanity. The Abraham faiths are a small part of the fabric that humans can hold, there has been a message about the truth given to every nation and to every person. Nature itself holds the truth, but most people do not see it there either.

      I totally agree with MizLiot. As I experience life I find myself revisiting it's meaning and editing my interpretation of what that meaning is. Each day and how you react to it has an influence on how you uncover that meaning for yourself. I believe that reading is a great way to expand your thought process, it is up to you as to what you incorporate into your values and beliefs.
