Receiving my First Payment from Hubpages

   Hello there fellow Hubbers!
   
   I am just so happy that I decided to share my joy with you! I recently received my first payment from Hubpages (after 9 months of trying to reach the $50 threshold). I know it sounds a bit lame since it took me that long just to get that much. But I already felt really glad about it, particularly because it was my first time to get paid by writing online.
   
   Now, I feel a lot more motivated because my effort finally paid off. Although monetary compensation is not my primary motivation, it really helped in giving me a burst too in writing.
   
   There! So with that, I also want to know how you felt when you first received your payment from Hubpages.

      Congratulations to you   I know you must be super excited....   When I hit mine the first time, it was a great feeling of achievement. It was hard to believe I had just gotten paid just for writing about things I love.  Can't beat that!

   Congratulation! I felt happy just like you, but the money did not motivates me to write. What motivates me were and still are the comments and feedbacks of my readers.

   Nicely done, yougotme! It definitely takes a while before one begins to earn anything significant on HubPages, but isn't it great once those earnings hit the payout threshold??? Enjoy!

   Congratulations, yougotme!  I remember when I got my first payment; it was exciting.  What happened next for me was that I figured out approximately how much my earnings were per day and I watched that figure slowly grow.  For example, when you are earning about one dollar a day, and eventually you see your earnings exceed $30 before the end of the month, that's another milestone.

   Congratulations! It's so nice to hear that you have gotten your first payment, and personally, quite encouraging, too. Nine months is not bad. Maybe I should set a target for myself and learn from you:)

    You kiddin'? Earning $50 in 9 months sounds like a dream to me. I've been writing Hubs for nearly 8 months, and all I've earned so far (according to the site) is $5.17.

    Well done, it is truly a fabulous feeling to hit payout for the first time. When I began Hubbing I never used to check my current earnings (the HP Ad program didn't exist then and Adsense was the main program). I seem to recall it took me about 12 months plus to hit the first payout which was $100 (or about £60 GBP). I was delighted when it finally happened, and I only checked my earnings for the first time a matter of weeks before it did. After this (and over time) I noticed my payments got closer and closer together until they got to 3 months apart, then 2, and finally every month. Shortly after this the payments per month began to increase, and of course this naturally inspired me to write more. HP Ads introduction boosted my income significantly (although naturally Adsense income had to drop drastically once I changed over to HP Ads due to the reduction of Adsense Ads on my Hubs). Now I make payout many times over each month, and although Panda, Penguin and various debatable HP changes have reduced the amount I used to make by about 50% (roughly), I still make payout a number of times over each month. I am sure you too will soon find you can achieve the same, just keep writing quality content (here and elsewhere) and start to consider ebooks, your own websites etc (never ever put all your eggs in this one basket).

       As of now, I just write here in Hubpages and in my blog, but I will consider other alternatives as soon as I reach a number of hubs here first.
