Thank you for the information. I wouldn't have thought of doing something like that. Can't imagine what people are thinking doing something as low down as that.

I have read through a lot of the responses and I do not see an answer to my question.  I have hubs that are up to two years old that were displaying first page results on Goggle.  Now, they do not come up in a search at all.  What does come up is blogs that have copies my entire hubs with ads, comments and everything, as well as results of sites that have posted excerpts of my hubs.  They are webpages related to the topic and there is a link back either at the beginning or end of the blog postings.  Is this somehow related to my hubs suddenly not showing up in Google searches?

If you take a short snippet from your hub, a single sentence, and put it in quotation marks and use this to do a google search ("my hubpage extract here"), your hub should come out on top, before all these other pages. If it does not, it is a pretty safe bet that your page is under some sort of penalty from Google. There have been many algorithm changes over the past year in particular. If you find it does not come out top when searching in this way, look at your hub, look at keyword density, titles, length of content, diversity of content, (different types of capsules, tables, rating, video, etc.), external links. If all that is ok, you will need to turn to links to your page for a clue. It could be that you have many 'spammy links' (which might have helped in the past but are now causing a problem), or that, if many sites are copying your content, that you have links on sites that have now been de-indexed by Google. If you find poor quality links might be able to use the Google disavow tool (however, I have only come across this for self hosted websites), but this is really a last resort - check your content first. It would be interesting to see where your hub appears in a Yahoo or Bing search - that might give you a good indication as to whether it is a link problem that you are being penalised for by Google or a content problem. My first step would be to try to get the hubs that are copied, removed - whether they give you a link or not especially if the page the copied hub is on is pr n/a or worse still, the home page of the domain is n/a or 0.

Thanks for the warning.  What can I do to prevent this from happening?

If you enter hub name your user name and hubpages, it may come up. Mine recently came up with copied hub above it.

It is easy to be copied by others as hub is a public place.
