    Hi all,

I know that HubPages are keen to get more of us producing 'Stellar' hubs: http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/Elem … tellar-Hub for various reasons:

    - They are more engaging* for visitors
    - They promote higher 'quality'* content
    - They have a chance* of doing better in search results
    - There will be an April competition all about 'Stellar' hubs: http://blog.hubpages.com/2013/03/april- … s-contest/

To help people that want to create stellar hubs, I have put together a checklist in Google Docs that guides you through what you need to do. It's based on (and contains guidance from) the Stellar Hubs guide linked above. Essentially, all you need to do is input your own information and the spreadsheet will tell you what you need to do next.

To use the spreadsheet, you'll need a Google Docs account (they are free) and then visit this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc … sp=sharing

You'll then need to go to the 'file' menu and 'make a copy', that will put a copy in your own Google Docs account from where you'll be able to input your own information.

I hope that you find it useful, it did take me a bit of time to put together, so please do share it with anyone else that might find it helpful.

    Thanks, Paul.

*I am aware that there is a *lot* of debate about HP language, quality, search, QAP and idling at present, this post isn't aimed at any of those things, just purely helping to share the 'Stellar Hubs' criteria and encourage people towards using them.

That is so gernerous of you! You are an extremely helpful person. Even if I don't use it (I might), I think it is great of you to put  time and effort into a tool that can be helpful to many. Thank you!

Oops, I thought I looked at what I wrote, but I spelled "generous" wrong. But I am glad it was obvious what I meant!

I'm aware there isn't an April competiton now, but hope you still find this useful. Stellar hubs definitely remain a good way to go.

I'm glad you're finding the checklist useful; the main idea was to make the creation of stellar hubs easier as I am hopeful that in the long term this will create betetr HP content overall, meaning a more trustworthy / authoratative source of information.

This Google docs resource is really valuable; I've been wondering how to incorporate certain info as a link in some of my articles, and this is the answer. Thanks!

Thanks so much Paul!  I know this took some time to create and I really appreciate it.  I will be using it for my next hub and I'm sure it will help a lot.  Aloha, Stephanie

I just took a look at your checklist.  You definitely put a lot of work into this Paul. I am sure everyone will find it useful to reference when writing hubs. I know I will.

Thank you, Paul.  I greatly appreciate you sharing your wealth of information.  I got some great tips on the importance of using videos and pictures.  I need to spend some time on my page!

You're very welcome! Finding videos isn't that tricky, YouTube has them on more or less any subject you can think of.

    What's a 'stellar hub'?

Obviously just being a newbie, I wouldn't know these things, or know about looking up the Learning Center.

What is this place, a nursery??

Just trying to help people out, not sure exactly why you took exception to it (Although I am of course aware that to a certain subsection of hubbers, nothing will ever be good enough, no matter how well intentioned!)

From the previous comments, it seems that some people find the tool helpful; perhaps you could contribute something helpful yourself?

Much appreciated, Paul!  By posting the attributes that make stellar hubs into a google doc and sharing it, you've gone way and beyond so I am also thankful for that!  I've saved the doc and will use it for reference when I write hubs.  Thanks!!

I made it as easy to use as possible - I know lots of people find spreadsheets scary!

I think Mark Ewbie has shown many of us that maps and the like can be used in any hub. lol
However the day I include a spreadsheet is the day someone has hacked my account and written a hub of actual value in my stead.
