Featured hubs is too cool allowing us to feature what we want. Is there any way the same could be done with the author's groups? Many authors here concentrate on multiple areas. Readers from one area may only be interested in that particular group of writings. For instance, some write short stories, how to articles, and political pieces. Obviously, readers for those groups most likely will not cross over from one interest to another. Can we feature groups somehow? Not only would it allow for ease of navigation for readers, it might help SEO on the profile pages. Food for thought.
I'm glad you're a fan of that carousel!
You're definitely not the first to make the recommendation re: groups on Profile Pages. We're going to leave the design alone for a while, but I've filed away the recommendation for the next time we approach their design (we agree it would be much better to offer more thematic grouping options- maybe by Hub Groups, maybe by Topics).
Thanks for the suggestion!
Hey again, poetvix.
We discussed this in our community meeting and while we might implement this eventually, it looks like it won't be a really high priority project, so some time may pass before we get to adding new filtering options to the profile.
Your recommendation has been noted though, and thanks for making it!
Great idea! I'm in the same boat--I write for several very different audiences.
We do have something similar already. It's the "Show: All" pull-down link. It doesn't go by groups, but by the topics we placed our hubs in.
May I suggest a quick and easy change -- just make that link more noticeable so it is obvious to visitors that they can narrow their search thru a Hubbers Hubs. I don't think many people even know that's there.
A more involved change (for further down the road) would be to do what poetvix mentioned, but by using the mechanism that's already in place: The existing groups we already created for our hubs. Maybe an option to let each Hubber select if they want to break it down by group or by topic. I know I'm making it more involved now (Something for the infamous back burner maybe?)

I'm stubborn about letting editors, beta readers, or proofreaders anywhere near my precious prose. However, lately, I've been subjecting my fanfiction, ahem, creative writing, to a free tool called Hemingway. Yes, Hemingway. The guy who would use six words to say everything I've said thus...

Do people use hub pages for exposure?

Concerning summaries of hubs on your profile page, do you write a short one or just let the system?I have noticed a lot of writers who do not write a short summary on each hub, but just allow the system to pull from the first words of that particular hub. On the statistics page, if you do not...

It would be great to have more options for displaying our hubs on the profile page. The chronological view means that hubs that are related (and may therefore appeal to the same reader) may be quite far apart, and older hubs are less likely to be seen in any case. Also, if we've written several...

Could any SEO expert here in hubpages let me know why my webpage was on google first page now ended up in page 20? There is not a change that I thought would impact this, but I found this happened couple times before where my pages going from 1st in google ended up not found on top 5 pages.

I want to write a traveloge covering six days. It will be quite lenghthy; maybe 5,000 words. Should I write one Hub or break it up into several Hubs? I'd rather not break it up. I plan to use lots of photos of places I visited.Thanks.
