I never watched Friends when it had its first run, but I've been watching the reruns in the last year and I must say, I can see why it was popular AND it hasn't dated.

Other than that I love old British comedies such as Fawlty Towers, The Kenny Everett Show, The Goodies.

Newer stuff like Two & a Half Men. I think that one will be timeless. Speaking of timeless, M*A*S*H is my all time favourite.

rmrposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I love the British humor, too. I used to really like Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Benny Hill, Are You Being Served...

Right now I think Two And A Half Men and The Big Bang Theory are two of the funniest shows on tv; both written by Chuck Lorre. That guy can write!

I think I've probably seen every episode a number of times.
my son dvr's friends and seinfeld, and although sometimes the laugh tracks are annoying, these are funny shows. jennifer anniston was brilliant in friends. some of her comedy reminds me of I love lucy. (which is probably top comedy show of all time)

I don't know if i agree, if I love lucy is the top show of all time, but seinfeld although cancelled is still a hilarious show.

My favorite comedy of all-time is Seinfeld.  Look at everyone who appeared on the show during its nine year run.  For show currently on the air, I would say The Office, Modern Family, and The Middle, are the cream of the crop.

Here are some of my faves that are currently on the air.

    Seinfeld
    Everybody loves Raymond
    Big Bang Theory
    Two and a half Men
    How I Met Your Mother
    Rules of Engagement

If I went back in time a few years I think one of my favorites would be Gilligan's Island. I used to love watching that. That and 3's Company. Golden Girls, Empty Nest, and Married with Children were also shows I rarely missed. That and Benny Hill.

I also used to watch a lot of Variety shows when I was a kid.
You would not like to be at our house on Donny and Marie night. My sister had to watch that, or a tantrum would begin.

My mom loved the Carol Burnet show, and I also remember watching the Sonny and Cher show. That, and Laugh In.

My Dad liked Lucy, the Honey Mooners, and, I dream of Genie.
And, we all loved Bewitched. That was a great show.

My family loves I Love Lucy, it's a great classic comedy show. Lucille Ball has to be my favorite female comedian, she had such a natural humor to her.

I love Castle, a recent drama/comedy. It's a great show for those who like Law & Order and the like, or for people who want to watch a crime drama but would like it toned down a little. The characters are wonderful and make the show special.

I also used to watch The Cosby Show. The first few seasons are my favorite, and Bill Cosby is my favorite male comedian. He reminds me of my grandfather! smile

rewatching gilligans island now, shows that it was a very clever show that portrayed social dynamics and class structures of the era in a very funny and enlightening way.

I love monty python, dame edna has saved my sanity more than once and the Kransky sisters..

Dave Hughes, used to be funny, if not a bit off key, still funny and I had to laugh when I got to warnambool where he apparently grew up and visited Cheese world where his brother works or worked.

All I could think was dave hughes brother works here!!!

They have good cheese and other goodies too.

Good news week, an australian comedy panel and the old chaser show was good.

I love to laugh and Im trying to remember the last show that made me laugh so.....

i think the best simpsons episodes are the best comedy around. I'm thinking of the older ones, like the episode with Poochie in or where Homer got fat and wore a muumuu.:-)

Now they're only do the occasional good gag, and the old shows have been shown enough to lose the surprise, but they've still better than sitcoms made today

I agree. "The Big Bang Theory" rules. I have watched the episodes over and over and there is always something new!
I do not agree with their commercial though. It says the show is on 'five nights a week' but if you count the two hours on Sunday, that makes seven nights a week.
