I've been trying to associate a Google AdSense account for the past several days, but each time I submit a request it almost immediately denies me. The message I get on the Earnings Page is "Association Disabled by You or by Google for TOS Violation:" this is rather confusing, as I have committed no such violation, nor have I disabled the request. As you all know it is impossible to make money with any of the earnings programs on Hubpages without first associating one of these accounts. If anyone has advice about resolving this issue I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

You need to create atleast 15-20 hubs. So focus on creating more hubs, and visit the forum. Welcome to hubpages!

Actually the advice you have been given does not sound right to me. Any reference to a TOS violation does not sound relevant to simply not having enough hubs. I suggest you contact them again and say you are confused by this and ask if it was something you did or if you have in some way breached a TOS in one of your existing articles (they do check them out with bots etc before granting you an Adsense account). It is important to have at least 10-20 hubs before applying, but I am surprised if you have any amount of hubs (lower or higher) and you got the message you quoted unless their content is an issue.

I've looked over my Hubs and I still have no idea what I included that would warrant a TOS violation. What common infringements result in this type of action by Google?

It can be so many things I don't know I can cover them all, links to prohibited sites, porn, weapon sales, nudity, gambling, using copyrighted (stolen) content etc etc. If you have other articles/websites elsewhere too it could be one of them that is the problem. You can be banned for encouraging friends and family to click on your adverts, clicking on your own adverts, having too many adverts (on your own websites) etc etc. This link might help you.

Since you referenced several news stories in the Meter fraud article I'm wondering if thats the TOS. These news articles are very strict about reuse.

I'll check that out, thanks. I would be very disappointed if I'm unable to properly source my articles because of Adsense. I wish they were specific about the violation.

Hi K Covino - I have the same warning on my application....have you been able to get approved? I also have no idea what kind of violation I would have made (I have only applied once and just re-applied now).

Unfortunately I have not figured out the TOS violation issue, nor have I had any help from Google or Hubpages with fixing it. My guess is that either you posted a copyrighted photo, or you included a link to copyrighted material (a video, a website, etc.). This constant struggle to understand why I am unable to monetize my Hub is why I haven't posted a new article in weeks. I've come to believe it is impossible to write quality hubs about current events (with proper citations) and get paid for it.

Hi there! I think it might be because I included too many links in some of my hubs and I have now removed these. Oh well, let's see, I will keep trying. Thanks!

Don't give up! The topics I choose to discuss require website links to substantiate what I'm saying. If monetizing your account is the ultimate goal, try writing about things that don't rely on sources and citation as much. Happy hunting!

ok I am new here. What is a TOS violation?

TOS violation = Terms Of Service violation
TOU violation = Terms Of Use violation I suspect.

      http://hubpages.com/help/user_agreement  (HP Terms of Use)

      This might also help:
