Everybody loves to travel and explore places that they have never been to before and before booking their trip people like to try and find out as much information about a place that they can.
Who knows more about a destination than the people who actually live there,?
That is where the challenge comes in.
Travel The World On A Hub
The challenge involves writing Hubs about where you live or about places that you have been to and know really well and the secret places that tourists wouldn't normally get to see simply because they have never heard of them. you could review your local eateries, hotels and aminities such as swimming pools, museums, hidden wonders or local festivals that take place.
If you are interested in taking part join us on the Facebook page set up for this challenge where you can share those links to your travel Hubs and find more information about the challenge.
Just type into facebook search hubber challenge and you will find us, the more the merrier.....jimmy
Can you include old hubs or is it for only new hubs? Sadly where I live now isn't particularly interesting
Hi Simey, If you have some old Hubs related to travel I don't see why they couldn't be included after all they are all pertaining to travel and places in the Hub Categories.....jimmy
Great. I am interested in such challenges & on my way to take part in it.
Something similar was done a few years ago. Did you participate with the Hub Trails hubs? Marisa Wright made a separate website for posting links to our travel/destination hubs, then she turned it over to someone else. I think I even have the Hub Trails logo on some of my travel hubs.
I think it's a great idea to write about the areas we know best. A few of my travel hubs are linked on Frommer's website. I was just getting ready to update my Florida hubs since vacation time is near.
This was one of the images we placed on our hubs.
Thanks for letting us know about it, jtj.
Hi rebekahELLE, thanks for showing interest maybe if we get enough people to participate we could in reality travel the world from Hub to Hub could be an interesting challenge.....jimmy
For that challenge, there were actually THREE websites set up, each providing links to the Hubs. HubPages joined in with a map on which every Hub was pinned.
The Hubs in Hubtrails were very good quality. Sadly it never really did as well as I expected, and when Google started penalizing websites which were "just a list of links", I decided there was no point in paying to renew the domain name.
It did have very good hubs which I'm sure many of them are still here. A lot of time and effort was put into those hubs, and I know it must have required more time than you expected keeping the site up.
HubTrails has been utterly defunct for a long time, and I found my travel Hubs got better performance when I went back over my Hubs and deleted all the tags and links related to that project.
Hi Relache, I missed out on Hub trails because of work commitments and wish I had taken part at the time.
There are a lot of new writers here on Hubpages who also missed out and can have the chance to participate now.
Hubpages have made improvements to the standard of Hubs since Hub Trails and hopefully that will be reflected in this new challenge.
Tagging has been taken out of our hands and if the writers stick to the rules there will only be one link in each Hub to another Hub in the series.
Thank you Relache for your response, I hope that you will join in.....jimmy
I just noticed this post. That's interesting. I think I removed most of the links, but I'll have to double check my hubs that had those links/logos.
I'd like to take part.. but can't find it on facebook booo!

good luck and welcome to the challenge.....jimmy
I have been gathering my research after I posted on your Facebook TimeLine Jimmy! I am getting ready! I was a bit disappointed this morning though, HP made me delete direct quotes by two politicians on Earth Day because it had been used somewhere else! Duh! Of course it has been used somewhere else. Everyone concerned about the planet plan to hold them to their word. Simone needs to improve on that rule. Direct quotes should be allowed to be used more than once. Oh, Well....
Off to start writing my Michigan Travel Hubs!

Take one of your old hubs, update it with new content, better photos, improved titles and add some additional modules (make it a stellar hub effectively) and then post it here for critique!

It has been such a fun exercise to participate in Hubpages author Annart's shorty story challenge. She posted a picture of her own painting and asked everyone to write a story from it. It has been amazing to watch so many talented writers rise to the challenge and produce incredible...

I read about hub challenges. But I didn't get a clear idea. So my doubts are -1. Is it just posting quality hubs every day or will the admin give any topic for a particular day?2. Is there any formalities to enter this challenge?3. What is the benefit of participating in this challenge?4. Is there...

I'm just coming back after a several year hiatus, and one of the most exciting things that started when I was here was the HubChallenge. Originally, it was 30 hubs in 30 days. Now I see it's changed to either updating your hubs or 30 hubs in 60 days. I tried the original once, and I failed...
