According to most sources, Michael B. Jordan is rumored to be in talks to possibly play Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in the upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot that Fox plans to release in 2015.

Take in mind, none of this has been confirmed, so I wouldn't start jumping to conclusions yet.  However, it is known that the young star has starred in Chronicle; which Josh Trank directed and written himself.  Josh Trank is also signed on to direct the Fantastic Four reboot, and it's been cited by many articles that Josh and Michael do have a close relationship.

All that aside, lets assume that it's true.  Let's pretend that Michael B. Jordan is cast to play Johnny Storm in the upcoming fantastic four reboot; even though the character has always been written as a white guy for years in comic books.  Would you be okay with it?

Why?  Or why not?  Please discuss.  By the way, the photo above this text is what he looks like.

I don't have a problem with it if he does indeed get cast as Johnny Storm as I think his personality fit the role pretty well. I also liked how he responded to it. My question then becomes though, would it affect the casting of Invisible Woman, his sister?

That's a very good question.  I'm kind of curious about that myself.  I honestly don't mind either because Johnny's race isn't exactly something that makes him who he is in the comic books the same way being black is part of who "Black Panther" happens to be for example.

Plus, lets be honest.  Johnny Storm is NOT an iconic character, so they can get away with changing his race in a movie, as he's sort of a minor character anyway.  Therefore, it should be fine.  However, it'll be interesting to see who they cast in these parts.  I just pray that it'll be better than the previous attempts.

I feel like I am in the minority but I did like Chronicle. I think Trank could do something good with Fantastic Four. the previous attempts were far to campy and did not do a good job of casting. I did not mind Chris Evans as Human Torch, but much to my surprise he makes a much better Captain America. Which in a million years i never thought i would say that, but in his younger years he was type cast as a bit of a hot shot playboy kind of role.

I've never seen chronicle sadly, so i can't really comment on it. however, i heard its very good, and ill probably end up reviewing it before chronicle 2 comes out.

it should be interesting.  i'm just curious who they'll cast for these parts.  to be honest, i thought Michael Chiklis was the only actor they got right in the previous fantastic four films. don't get me wrong, i think chris evans did a good job as the torch, but he just seemed like he was too big for the part.   By big, i mean too muscular, as i never believed once that his character was younger than sue storm in the fox fantastic four movies, as they looked too damn close in age range.  I mean isn't Johnny storm supposed to be like in his early twenties?  or late teens?  Chris Evans in those films made his character look like he was well into his mid to late twenties.   Granted, I know im in the minority here when i say that, but that's just how it felt to me anyways.

However, you're right about him playing a better captain america though, as i couldn't agree with you more
