Most people seem to say that ten is the magic number for applying for Google AdSense. I posted my 10th today and have been waiting for it to be featured before I apply. Does anyone know if this is necessary, or will Google be able to see all of my content regardless?
Oops. I was going to ask two questions, but decided not to. I don't see a way to edit my post. Is there a way? Look, there's a second question!
For at least a few hours you will see an 'edit' option below your post (after this it vanishes and you can no longer alter your original post).
More content is usually better. Although, there isn't a specific amount of content that AdSense requires, it appears that they are not as concerned with number of Hubs as total content. So a bunch of short Hubs might not work as well as fewer longer and more in-depth Hubs.
I think a month and 15-20 published Hubs of good length could be a good starting point.
Please keep in mind that since we are not privy to the entire Google AdSense application process, all of our suggestions are guidelines and should not be taken as Google gospel!
From the feedback I got, Google likes articles to be at least 1,000 words or more so that there is room to display their content.
I was approved after about 10 hubs, but that was over 5 years ago now. As far as I hear Adsense now seem to require closer to 15-20 hubs before approval is granted. The point Matthew made about 'amount of content' could well make sense too (so a smaller amount of 'in depth' hubs of a decent length could feasibly result in faster approval, as opposed to more hubs of a shorter and less 'in depth' level).
If a Hub is not Featured, that means it has a "no index" tag on it which asks Google to pretend it doesn't exist. That's because if a Hub is not Featured, HubPages takes that to mean it's not good enough to represent the site on the search engines. So I would wait till they are all featured.
I've been watching the recent posts about Adsense on the forums, and it seems as though two factors are important. One is time - I'm seeing people applying with 20 Hubs, but if they haven't been here over a month, they get turned down. Whereas I've seen people who have been active for a month, get approved with only 17 Hubs. So it does sound like a month is seen as a qualifying period.
Anyway, it's not relevant to you because you've already applied using your blog and (as I explained), you can't change horses midstream. You will need to put some more effort into your blog and get your Adsense approved that way, and then you'll be able to apply to use the same account on HubPages.
Featured happens pretty fast these days. Might as well wait until the noindex tag is removed...
I'd wait till all hubs are featured before proceeding just to be safe.
If you apply with ten, you will probably be told that there is insufficient content for adsense to consider. I was turned down with 17 hubs (all featured), but accepted with about 30 hubs. Good luck.
There seems to be no set rule for acceptance. I was accepted after ten Hubs but it seems likely that having another website can sometimes be of some help. Best wishes,
I was getting rejected for insufficient content after 25 featured hubs but after I had been on HP for over a month, my application was approved no problem. I see that you've been here about 3 months so if time is something they measure more than content, you should be fine. If they still reject your application for insufficient content then I guess it's exactly that.
Four years ago when I applied for Adsense, I applied after starting a Blog on Blogger. I had made several post before I filled out the application. I then brought my Adsense code to Hubpages.
I know Blogger and Google are together ( I believe that is still the case) and things have changed in four years, so not sure if it is still easier to get Adsense approved by establishing a Blog.
Does anyone know if Adsense is still easier to obtain if you have a Blogger account?
That was the same case with me, Michael. I started a Blogger (Blogspot) blog back in the spring of 2009 (actually on May 18, 2009 - 4 years just passed me by...) before I even knew what Adsense was. Can't remember exactly when I applied by I was approved right away. I know it was at least a few months before November, 2009 that I had the ads up.
Google and Blogger are still closely intertwined (Google owns Blogger?) and it might still be a great place for people applying for the program to get their foot in the door.
However, four years in the internet world is about a millenium in real time...
I have a hub that was featured for a while, 2 months, but it is no longer featured now. Does that mean that it now has "no index" tag on it? I thought it had just grown stale. Should I make some changes to it and resubmit?
Yes it has the no index tag on it and it would be worth making some improvements to it.

I am just learning all about everything on the internet, and I signed up for a Google AdSense account so that I could get paid for my articles. Well, I don't know what the heck I did, but they deleted my account and have now denied me access to another one? I have tried and tried to get...

I'm new to Hubpages, and I have published two Hubs, and I'm working on some more. I want to apply to Google Adsense when I get to 10 hubs. However, I'm seeing so many Hubbers (and other websites too!) saying that their Adsense accounts have been shut down, and they don't know why. Basically, I'm...

How many hubs do I need to publish before Google Adsense approves my application? I know this question has been asked many times but I know there are a lot of helpful hubbers here who can help. By the way, here's my recent post <link snipped>. Any suggestions on how I can improve my hubs are...

I've reviewed the instructions and have been declined again. I joined hubpages in January of 2013, and wrote 4 hubs. In the last few days I have written 6 more hubs. All of my hubs are featured and I have ten total. I hoped that 10 featured hubs would be enough. I am in the...

After 7 months and 19 hubs including 5 Stellar and 9 exclusive titles my adsense account has disapproved. This is disappointing. I cannot find a way out to solve this issue. I have got an error of insufficient content.I don't know how to react to this issue. I have read on websites like trionode...
