Suggestion: make Groups visible on profiles

   I think it would be cool if our groups appeared on our profiles so that followers and other people could more easily find a person's hubs by interest instead of having to trawl through a long list of hubs that don't interest them to find those that do.

      Agreed. On the old profile, different hubs used to display in "topic groups" which I preferred.

      I also agree with this suggestion. Sometimes, I see profiles of hubbers who have written hundreds of hubs on different topics and it gets very hard to search through all of those hubs because you see a long list of different kinds of hubs. Sometimes, if there's really a lot of hubs, you even get the "load more" link at the bottom of the page because there's more hubs to be seen.

      I love the suggestion, sleepylog! We've actually had this suggestion two times previously over the past couple of weeks- it's a popular one, and we agree that it would be nice to offer better grouping options on the Profile.
      The only barrier that remains is our bandwidth to execute the change. Right now, all of our efforts are being directed toward things that will have a direct and measurable impact on Hubbers' ability to create high quality Hubs, gain a larger following, and earn more money. Groups on Profiles have a bit of a fuzzy connection with these things, hence the project has not been prioritized, but rest assured it is in our minds!

            They are indeed heard, sleepylog! As an update, we are definitely open to adding Topics back to Profiles, but it is not likely that Groups will be added (just because of the potential for misuse). I hope that seems reasonable. We've seen some pretty... incorrect use of Groups. ^__^;;

               Yes I can imagine the potential for misuse  of the Groups feature and many hubbers don't realise that doing so actually harms their Google standing and what you're saying (please correct me if I'm wrong) is that this affects the whole of the HP community. A topics feature that is more easily seen than the current drop down menu would definitely be an improvement

                  Groups are meant to be used to promote hubs that are similar in topic, but many people don't stick to this rule and Google doesn't like that. As I'm sure you know, Google prefers links that point to other sites whose content are of the same topic as your site. Anything else will probably be seen as spamming.

                     Google likes links within a website which point to related posts.  That's what Groups do, so I can't see why it would be a problem.

   If you click on Show at the top of our listed hubs, a drop down box of groups is listed.

      True but most people would miss that. And that only shows hub categories, not our groups.

      Oh wow. I actually didn't even notice this at all until you mentioned it. It was always there but I guess I didn't really pay attention to it. It seemed to be just a part of the layout of the profile. I didn't even notice that it was actually a drop-down box of topics until you pointed it out. I only ever really noticed the three links to the left, the "hubs", "Q&A" and "forums".
      
      But I just went to my profile to check it out. This is cool. And it would be very helpful for those checking out someone's profile and finding out they have like hundreds of hubs on many different topics. That drop-down box should help to further narrow down the hubs being shown by topic.

   I found the secret little drop-down button by accident (and I am very familiar with the site).  I imagine a reader from Google would never stumble on it.  I agree - it would greatly improve the 'reader experience' to have an easier way to locate content on this site, both in general, and on the profiles of each writer.

   When the new Profile layout was introduced, several of us said that the new 'secret' drop-down button was too hard to spot. 
   
   Sounds like we were right, if even experienced Hubbers aren't aware of it.
