The following is a MEGA post from SEOmoz called:

How to Rank: 25 Step SEO Master Blueprint

Well worth reading several times and bookmarking for future reference!

It's good for beginners and anyone up to intermediate level.

    Enjoy smile

        You're welcome Susi smile

I particularly like the bit where he talks about content:

" Content without value is spam.

Value is harder to produce than mere words, but value is rewarded 100x more. Value is future proof & algorithm proof. Value builds links by itself. Value creates loyal fans."

I think the post he's created there is a testament to the above quote.

That page will have taken many, many hours to create and edit. It's written in just the right language for the beginner, flows easily from one idea to the next, the technical bits are very easy to understand and he also manages to create a personal connection (engages the reader) through the type of informal language he uses.

We can learn loads just by assessing what he's done on that page!

Yes you are right! I particularly liked the section about keywords, about how to find keywords that have low competition and high traffic. I learned a lot from that part. smile

No probs smile I doubt there will be much in there to surprise you Marisa, but I thought it would help those that are struggling with understanding what SEO is, and how to do it, in 2013.

I love that site. I always find helpful posts on their blog. I posted that link last week on one of these threads.  I think it's full of very helpful advice.  I also like the concept he speaks about ranking for keyword themes.
He gives great insight on links which I think is important to read because of the conflicting advice given from hubbers regarding links.
Also I suggest reading the valuable links he adds.

You can lead a horse to water, but if it happens to be a hubber-horse you might need to push it in.

Nice post - good advice - and mostly common sense - of course this could all be bad advice in the next Google update big_smile

That piece is a great example of what the ideal Hub is.  Rich, detailed, useful....That would be an 8+  Thanks for sharing.
