Hiya,
I had an e-mail saying I was using ratings incorrectly, I didn't realise they were just for recipes
Anyway they also said this:
You may also be receiving this email because your Hub is deceptively titled. For this Hub: http://claireroach.hubpages.com/hub/How … or-payment
Now I'm confused because they didn't say it definitely was but they did throw it in the mix. Has anyone had this before and should I be worried?
Thanks in advance
Claire
The ratings can be used three ways: (1) your personal rating for a product you are reviewing, (2) Audience rating and (3) recipes; however, you must choose the appropriate setting or the filters will pick it up.
Ratings aren't just for recipes, they can also be used for product reviews (either to rate the product yourself, or to invite your readers to rate it). They can't be used to ask people to rate your Hub, if that's what you were doing.
I can't see why that Hub would be deceptively titled. The best thing is just to reply and ask them to be more specific, it may just be an automated filter.
Reading this is going to be helpful to explaining the deceptive warning,
http://hubpages.com/faq/#deceptive
Weird, I still don't see how it's deceptively titled. And why they didn't say if it definitely was. Just that it might be, curious and curiouser
Maybe 'deceptive' isn't the right word but it is a confusing title. It would be an easy fix. just change your wording a little. Maybe "Understanding when to charge an SEO client for you time" or "When to start charging for your time when advising on SEO"
I've never received such an email from HubPages. As for the rating capsule it is not just for recipes. You can use the rating capsule for book, movie, or music review hubs.
That does not look like any email that I receive from Hub Pages. If I am unsure of an email, before I open it I do this:
1) I right click it,
2) I move down to 'View Full Header' and click that,
Then I view over who it is from, etc. If the name sounds illegitimate, I spam it. If it sounds legitimate, I read it.
It was definitely off them. I don't want to be forced to change it to be honest. It's not deceptive in any way shape or form!!
Thanks for the reply's
This is a bit off topic, but your post reminds me of when I was denied for life insurance and the letter stated it was due to my blood sample revealing either cocaine or HIV.
What the heck!!!!!
I'd never touched cocaine so are they telling me I'm somehow HIV positive?! That was incredibly unlikely, but now I had to live not knowing for sure. I called the company and was told I had to send a letter and request more info in writing. And then wait for a written reply. You gotta be kidding me.
I finally got the letter stating it was supposedly cocaine. Oh brother. Clearly the test results were wrong, but try to convince THEM of this. A year or two later I applied with another company who drew new blood. I was denied again based on the previous blood test that was still on record.
So while I don't know the answer to your question, I can relate to getting confusing information about what the problem "might" be. Frustrating!

Quite a few of my Hubs have related Hubs. I try to put a few links in a Hub to another related Hub when it seems appropriate. But I see that the editors often remove them. I have tried to find out why in past forum postings without any luck. I assume it's because of loss of page rank. Is that the...

Is it fair to give bad ratings/feedback to pages/blogs you personally disagree with?If I come across an article that I strongly disagree with, but the author did not resort to name calling, over-generalization or stereotyping and expressed his/her opinion in an intelligent and reasonable matter I...
