Just few days ago, I posted a hub which I think was well-organised. However, after posting that hub I saw my author score dropping around 2 points. Can anyone explain why did it happen?

Its all to do with the gnomes and the fairy dust shortage which is currently affected by the drop in the Chinese stock-market. You will find that once the trolls and ogres get involved with the commodities market across Asia that your score will start to climb again..

At least that is as much as the rest of us can figure out - meanwhile don't worry about your score too much!

Looks like figuring out hub score is far more difficult than figuring out the mood of markets, nonetheless, thx for your advice Tony

Your author score is made up of several things, but part of it is the average of all your individual Hub scores.  When you publish a new Hub, it starts out with a low score - so naturally, that is going to drag down the average. Hence every time you publish a new Hub, you can expect your author score to drop for a while.

I'm so jealous.  I published a new Hub yesterday and my score went down three points!  Here's a very long forum thread about Hubber scores if you want to wade through it all:
      http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/112915?page=17

Here's what Paul E. posted on that thread:
"When we created the site over 7 years ago I had a vision for HubScore to be recognized as a signal of trust to members of our community and casual readers.  It does fluctuate intentionally a bit and we suggest to not be too concerned over small changes in the score.

"It does have importance.  Generally, people with high HubScores are more trusted and active community members.  We are also feeding more quality data into the score and will adapt it over time to be more reflective of Hub Quality.

"I still want HubScore to be recognizable.  We started an initiative internally at HubPages to better highlight aspects of the author.  We'll see how the display of HubScore impacts this in our prototype/testing.

"One thing I really appreciate is thoughtful feedback...Thanks for bringing this up and all the good comments."

It will go back up in a few days to a week. But the more you publish quality hubs on a regular basis, the shorter the time it takes to go back up. "Regularly" differs for everyone; set a schedule that works best for you and try to stick with it. Consistency will eventually stabilize your hubscore. But expect it to fluctuate, it's part of the game.

I experienced this last week after posting a new hub. My score steadily dropped from 92 to 88 over the course of a couple of days. Then I posted another new hub and it stayed 88 for a while then climbed to 90 as my hub scores rose and today it's 92 again. Marisa was the one to point that out to me as well when I posted a similar question. I was so confused because I had been more active than ever all over HP and expected it to rise if anything.  Glad to know the more hubs you have the less it drops and less time or takes to go back up.

Paul E. made a post on the Forum about 2 weeks ago, responding to Hubber scores falling when new Hubs were published.  He said,

"Of course we love new hubs!  Fawntia is working on HubScore changes.  This should happen a lot less."

Fawntia is a staff software engineer.  Maybe at the proverbial Thursday meeting someone will ask Fawntia how the programming is going on the changes.

Hope everything works out well, predicting hub author score is more difficult than predicting the market trends, but would keep the advice in mind, thx all you hubbers for providing me with your experiences and views about the hub score

Answer lots of questions, weave in and out of the forum threads, share hubs, give comments and generally broadcast good will to all hubbers..even if you disagree with them from time to time......mmmmmm.....

Oh yes, and create top quality hubs!!! Mustn't forget that!

Then your Hubberscore will take care of itself.
