New Feature for Revenue

I like to use AllPosters.com for images because 1) they have gorgeous images and 2) I can earn income if someone buys a print.  On HubPages, however, I am limited to only two links to a single domain and I must use a link (as an affiliate) to be able to use an image.

So my suggestion is that HubPages set up the entire site to work with AllPosters the way it works with Amazon or eBay.

Since every Hub needs great images, there's super income potential for HubPages without adding any more ad units on the Hub.

There are two things to address:
    1.  Either HP needs to sign up the site to work with AllPosters or allow Hubbers to use their own affiliate links with an unlimited number of links to AllPosters per Hub.

    2.  The links must have the NoFollow attribute since they have income-potential and are considered ads by Google, and the present HubPages system doesn't allow Hubbers to post a NoFollow link.

      Writer Fox,

I can bring this up in our community meeting, but my hunch is we are not likely to implemented any additional affiliate programs in the near future due to prioritization of other features.

Do you have any specific details related to how their affiliate program works?

        Hi Matthew,

I hope you can bring this up at "the" meeting.  Here's a link to the affiliate program:
        http://affiliates.allposters.com/affiliatesNet/

This is a high-quality site and it has an outstanding collection of images to use.  If HP corporate doesn't want to sign on right now, could HP at least allow Hubbers a way to use more than two links to that site per Hub AND make that link NoFollow?

Hubbers spend so much time searching for images and that site is a great way to solve the problem and earn extra income.

So cool!  At the meeting, could you also please ask Fawntia how the programming changes are coming along so that every time someone publishes a new Hub the Hub author score doesn't nosedive?  That will be nice, too.

How successful have you been as an affiliate?   I went through a phase of using them extensively on my blogs, then gave up in disgust because the URL of their posters changed so often, and I was constantly getting broken links.

        Hi Marisa,

I haven't had a problem with broken links on AllPosters products, but I find broken links all the time on YouTube videos, Amazon products and especially eBay because the auctions close.  It is my understanding that AllPosters works as a print-on-demand shop so that its inventory is pretty much always available. If you were having a big problem with broken links, maybe the affiliate link you were using had a problem?

You can generate income from AllPosters, so that's a real plus.  The main reason I like them is that they provide a huge resource of images to use that you don't find duplicated on many other webpages. (You cannot, however, alter the images in any way.)

It's not practical to link to specific products on eBay because auctions do end - keywords are the only way to go.  I use phpBay for eBay products.

Maybe I was just unlucky on AllPosters, or perhaps it was because they were dance posters so they weren't very popular, and many of them were discontinued.

We discussed this in our meeting today and at the present time we do not plan to implement support for any additional affiliate programs.

Good... It's a terrible affiliate plan and people would certainly misuse the photos for an opportunity to earn a few pennies.

Thank you for considering the idea.  I guess we just have to stick to using 2 images from them per Hub.  Did you discuss a way for us to use NoFollow links?

I really like All posters, I don't know anyone who's been successful as an affiliate with them (although I'm sure there are some) but they're great when you're trying to find high quality images which you can legally use. I think though, I'd rather see an affiliation to Zazzle.

Very cool suggestions and it seems like an interesting program to be an affiliate to sell images and be able to showcase them on hubs. I've always created my own images, but that may change if HP takes the suggestion.

I think this is an excellent idea, and might potentially boost revenue for Hubbers. However, my only concern is that the majority of people that come to hubs are normal people that just want to find out how to do something or need an answer to a question, they are unlikely to be looking for images.

I'm affiliated with them and they do have excellent images. So far as an income, my personal experience is not that great but with that said I think that this is a great suggestion worth pondering further.

I think your idea is a very good one Writer Fox, especially since allposters has such beautiful pictures, in this case I believe the income comes secondary. I think if you make a few bucks with them that's great but as you said their posters really add something to our articles.
