   What do you think about the teaching of Jesus that "Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."  John 6:27

      I suppose that pleasures of this life are ephemeral.  We judge constantly, so anything we deem of value can easily be viewed the opposite. What we want is only wanted until we have, and then we develop other wants. The value of the thing attained diminished by the act of attaining it. The pleasure derived, spoiled.
      
      The search for the spiritual is the opposite. For every ounce of knowledge attained we hold on to tightly.  The value never diminishes. That knowledge of the spiritual lasts beyond this life.
      
      I guess the seal of approval comment means that Jesus felt his understanding qualified as knowledge.

      This life on earth is temporary.   Although we have to work in order to have food to sustain our bodies here on earth, that passage is telling us that it's our spiritual life that's the most important.  We must think about where we (our souls) are going after our bodies die.   Jesus is the "Bread of Life",  Spiritual Life, that is.   He is the One through which we can obtain eternal Life.

      The food that endures to eternal life is that of spirit. Spirit is eternal, things of flesh are not. Therefore feed off the spirit within.

      Neglecting any part of your person makes you less. My parents were religious extremists and did not allow me to attend school. My mother's answer was that Jesus was coming back soon and so I did not need an education. They said I should be focused more on things of the spirit than things of the world, like pursuing 'secular' knowledge.
      
      I am now attending university with a 4.0 GPA, and I can honestly say I feel more fulfilled than I ever have before. I have a beautiful home, with plenty to eat, a little money to spare for entertainment, and it is more than I ever had growing up. Everything that I've worked so hard for will disappear when I'm dead but the process of achieving it has strengthened and encouraged my soul. We were put here as blank canvas with all of the opportunities to be whoever we want and wasting them on refusing to reach full potential is the saddest thing in the universe. Why would you throw away the gift of life, instead of living it fully?
      
      It doesn't matter how spiritual you are in this life, because the fact is, you don't really know what will happen when you die. If the present is the only chance you ever have, and nothing happens when your heart stops beating, then the breath in your body was a waste if you did nothing with that time.

      we should not overly desire for eartlhy things and of the flesh that will just make us to crave more and more without content but to live like Jesus everyday.to listen to His instructions that will make our lives better.foods like accepting him as your Personal Saviour and Counselor,has humility in heart

         That man only knew the circumstances and the culture of his day.  He could not have speculated on anything that would happen 100 years on, let alone 2000 years.
         
         So why concentrate on that man and try to impose your own imaginations on his understandings?  Why not come right up to the here and now?  Work hard to solve the difficulties of today..... this will be much more helpful to our world.
