Has Anyone Ever Suggested a Notes Field Next to Hub Listings?

One thing I would find useful is if there was a field in which we could put a small note next to our Hub listings in "my account" to keep track of important information related to certain Hubs.  This would be useful to make notes for Hubs that need to be revisited and updated due to timely subject matter.  I'm sure others could think of many other beneficial uses of notes attached to Hubs.  Has this ever been proposed or considered?

This is a great idea and one I'm sure would not be all that difficult to implement!  In the past I have used a 'text' capsule in the particular Hub to record any info that I have to remember and 'checked' the 'do not display this capsule button'  Of course you then have to remember which Hub you have put the note on. lol
I like your idea much better smile

I agree with everyone else, it's a great idea. I'd find it useful. Often I don't have time to fully re-write my hub, or I forget my idea as soon as I have it, so something right there to take notes with would be pretty handy

We discussed this feature and have decided not to implement it at this time.
One alternative is to add a hidden text capsule with any notes that you might want to track for each Hub.

OK.  Thanks for considering the idea.

Awesome alternative! I'd forgotten about that ability. Thanks again, Matthew Meyer!

I don't know but it's an excellent idea!! Right now I go back and forth between a spreadsheet, which is awkward because the hubs don't have a "serial number" by which I can easily sort and identify them. Good question!!

    Hi Rock NJ,
It is a good idea, not sure if that is the best place for it though as the hub listings page could get messy and difficult to read. I keep all of this data myself in an Excel spreadsheet and also a Notepad file. I track any re-writes, updates etc in those files. Perhaps a separate notes page within the "my account" section could fill the void.

I am thinking just a pin that you can click or mouse-over to see your note.  I wouldn't need it for every Hub, just the ones that really need to be updated from time to time since they discuss dates and financial info that changes.  Something else I thought of since writing my original question is building in a date reminder, so you can make a note and then set a date at which time the note pops up to remind you, or perhaps the pin that indicates a note is attached to a Hub changes color to indicate that it is time to review the note and update the Hub.

I will bring this up in our next community meeting.

In the meantime, you can accomplish most of this functionality using free productivity software.

For example, you could create a Google calendar reminder each time you create a Hub that you feel needs to be updated periodically and include the URL for the Hub in the reminder.

You could also create a Google Drive spreadsheet containing the URL for each of your Hubs and then you could add notations or other info that you would want.  This would allow you to track more granular elements of the Hub that you think might need to be updated like say columns for images, video used, dates, or even historical figures.

Really a great idea and I vote for it! It could also help us keep up with comments made to our work. I am glad you thought of it and hope it flies!

This is a great idea!  It will help remind us when to update our hubs, and other things we wanted to add/ change about them.
