I  have noticed that many hubbers add fancy, colorful bands between capsules. It is so pleasant to have them there, and I'd love to know where to find them and how to upload them to my hubs.  Thanks so much!

Are you referring to a bar between "levels", or full on frames of capsules, like you'd frame a picture?
I don't know about the latter, but I think that as far as the former goes, you just find a bar that you like, which you can find them all over the place. I think they even have them in clip art, but I don't really know what the legality of using those are. Any way, just insert a picture capsule between each section you want to divide and use said bar

Seafarer Mama, if you are talking about the colorful line dividers, there are ways to create them on your own (although I don't know how), or you can go to a hub that provides free ones, and legally download them. All you need to do in that case is have a small text capsule crediting the author of those dividers. The hubs tell you how to download and use them, and it's very easy. I have used many from homesteadbound, and there's also some from Sharkye11 that are nice. You may be able to find more by searching within HubPages for "free line dividers". I hope that this is helpful.
      Happy Independence Day, Karen!

Thank you, Kathryn!  Yes, I do mean those pretty line dividers, and I will look to the hubbers you mention to find them!

Hi Seafarer  Mama! I used an appropriate photo of mine which I edited into a small "line" that looks like a divider. I just reduced the size of the photo and save it. Then I upload  the photo into the photo capsule of my new not yet publish hub. That´s it.

I use PowerPoint to make my divider bars. I add the line on a slide and in format mode, adjust size and color. Save as jpeg or png and then upload to HP in photo capsule. I leave pic in full mode.
Note: When I make the line on PPT slide, I take it across the entire slide. You don't want the HP photo capsule to have to stretch the image you make as a divider bar.

Thank you, Michael. I am without the laptop that has PowerPoint right now and I will make sure PowerPoint is on my new one. :0)

I use PSP to make my dividers, bands or lines. I have a hub on it. Don't know if you have PSP but it would very likely work with what ever you have. You can also make them with Paint. The first one is with Paint and the second one is with PSP.

I have had a lot of interest from across the social networks when I use this...

    http://s4.hubimg.com/u/8169551_f248.jpg

People leave comments asking me where I got it from and are amazed when I say "I just drew it".  They want to know if they can borrow it, or how much I would charge just to rent it out.

I say modestly that it's not very good (although I am lying) and that they can have it for free if they link back to me.  It has single cucumberdley built me an internet empire across three time-zones.

It seems funny now to look back at how I was earning a few cents, and my traffic was dropping daily.  Well those days are gone.  As soon as I leave this mental asylum I am going to go viral, and not in a bad way.

edit:  Mark's brain is on holiday.

you should write a widget for it that people can download that would let them display it on thier site and in that widget you would have a backlink for your site.

We actually recommend that you don't use graphic dividers in your Hubs.  If we ever make changes to the Hub design they could potentially be an issue and having a clean design is usually your best option.  Instead of using dividers to break up your content, I would try integrating full-width photos and multiple Text Capsules with clear headings.  smile

Robin - would it be possible to have a 'line divider' module then? If there were drastic changes you could simply 'delete' all the 'line divider' capsules in a similar way to the RSS deletion. Would make it easier for those of us who have quite a few 'lines' already in use!!!

That is a good idea.  I will bring it up in the community meeting on Thursday.  smile

      SimeyC,

We talked about this and have no plans to implement any new capsule at this time.
We currently have a mechanism to identify these sort of images without the need for an additional capsule.
