How long does it take you to write a hub?

   How long do you take on average to write a hub. I mean the whole process, research, writing etc. What would you say is the average for you?

      It generally takes me 2-4 hours to do the research and create a well crafted hub.  Most of the work happens outside of this time frame though - while the idea is percolating in my mind before I actually start creating the hub.

      Depends on the type of article.  If it is just story or personal thoughts, then easy, a few hours will suffice.  But when topics need research plus selecting  videos and pictures, then I would take a few days.  Believe it or not a number of my hubs took weeks to research, collate and write.

      It depends.  My practice is write my writing plan first. Then allot a time frame and usually I publish it within 1 or 2 days.  My prescribed plan is write 4 or 5 hubs a month and a total hub of 50-60 per year.  I can't write above that level as it is my side or secondary job.

      Personally, I do a rough draft in 2-3 hours and then I tweak it throughout the day. Ordinarily, I take a couple of days to complete each one. I work full-time, so I am sure I could cut some time from the process, but I feel if I don't rush I am more satisfied with the ultimate result.

      It depends on the topic, from a couple of hours to a couple of days. If I have time and thoughts are coming in right away, I am done in about two hours. If I need to do some research, it takes a few days.

   It takes me on average about 3-4 hours to write a word document and assemble the images in a folder.  Once I'm happy with the way the article looks I will then upload it on Hubpages, which takes another 1-2 hours, including adding ebay items and links.  As I'm a visual artist I have a lot of my own images available which cuts down on looking for Creative Commons licensed images online.

   I start with a bunch of "scratch" notes written on paper. Time spent on those notes depends on the subject. The actual time spent sitting at the computer banging everything into Hub capsules is usually a couple of hours.

   Probably too long when you count the entire process. I'm meticulous . . . well, maybe obsessed, when it comes to finding the right images if I'm not using my own. The same with youtube videos. I've taken hours just for that alone. I take a couple days back and forth to do research and find links. Writing the text in Word really doesn't take that long, depending on the topic, or if I'm using a poem I already wrote. Tweaking the document extends the time it takes me, then I tweak again when I'm re-typing into the capsules. I never copy and paste because I know I'm going to edit as I go. I would say the average time is 4 to 6 hours.

   tI has taken me as little as a half an hour and as much as 8 hours per hub. If I already know the subject well, it doesn't take long. I spend a lot of time on research if I don't know the subject. Finding proper photos can take awhile too.
   
   What is interesting it that the half hour hubs are usually the most popular. I think I have a better style of writing when I have so much personal experience with the subject.

   I find it quite difficult to say, but like the other's depends on the subject matter and how familiar I am with it. I mostly find it quite difficult to say because my concentration span is so abysmal. So, I 'll frequently write for half an hour, then do something else for while (possibly continue to write but a different page) return, lose concentration and then disappear. And so it goes- it can literally take me days to complete a hub, but just a few hours to write and put it together.

   All of my recent hubs are over 2,000 words and filled with media and more.  It takes me about 4 to 8 hours to write and layout a hub.  My creative writing hubs I did early on when I was here took just minutes really.  They got little traffic too.

   The main idea needs to be done in under an hour - short attention span.  I will probably revisit and tweak and tweak over the months, years.  But I am not doing research - just writing, and drawing, stuff.
   
   Anyhow - that's not the point for me.  The point is - how long does it take me to delete a page?  I just checked and it took about a minute - scrape contents into a word doc for later, and delete.
   
   I will republish on one of my blogs.  I am not ashamed of my original article - which now fails to pass engagement - it is good enough for the internet.  I am glad I didn't spend hours and days honing it with videos, etc.
   
   Personally I think there is a new game with Google.  Let me know when HP traffic starts to recover - I am not seeing it - after months of QAP.

    A few hours if it's off the top of my head.  Usually it takes me 6-8 hours though because I write about something I'm interested in so I tend to research for more information.  Then re-read everything so the writing flows smoothly.

    Writing the article takes probably the shortest time out of the whole process for me, what is more time consuming is the research before the actual writing and the editing part including proofreading and searching for photos that are creative commons. I usually spend about 2-5 hours per hub.

    I just finished a hub off of the top of my head in 2 days, with about 6 hours work total, but like others have mentioned here it depends on the type of hub.  Other hubs need to be more carefully crafted, and might be put together over the course of a couple of weeks.

    Near about 1 hour or max 1.30 hours but it depends upon the theme/ topic on which i am writing hub.
    
    Basically i  research on topic in half an hour and then write. Sometimes it takes time to collect relevant images but usually it takes average time of 1.30 hours to write hub .

    If I am writing a poem them it takes may be around 1 - 2 hours to complete with all the process including posting in the hubpages. But if I am attempting a prose hub then it depends on the topic. I mainly love to write about travel hub. Then it takes almost 3-4 hours to write about the experiences and then choose among my collection of travel photographs from our trip and then to post it.  But if its a different hub then it takes time to research may be for 3-4 hours and the write and then post. May be almost 6-7 hours to complete the whole process. Thank you.

    Mine have consistently taken 3 to 4 hours each.  This includes outlining, writing, editing and collecting all my images (often creating a graphic or image to use as well).  Then I transfer everything into a Hub template, then there's usually more editing after that.  However, the first part of outlining a topic usually takes place days in advance before I ever get around to writing on it.
