The site is w w w. car article. net/
Found one (so far) of mine. Have already filed DMCA. I suspect the whole site is nothing but stolen car articles. And they've got AdSense ads.
They've also stolen this hub, http://eddiecarrara.hubpages.com/hub/6- … from-a-Car
Yes. They stole mine too. Do you have the info one needs to file a DMCA against them? Who are they?
Courtesy of and direct from HP staff...
http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/how- … -complaint
Hi Paradigmsearch,
They also have three of my articles because of which one of most popular hub has zero traffic....The hub was a combined list of fastest cars and bikes..... I have filed a DMCA too but no response yet.... And i found another hubber's article too..
I am totally clueless as to all things Wordpress. What are the implications of it being a Wordpress site?
Thank you for taking the effort to report this, and share with other Hubbers.
Damn it! When is it going to stop? I mean, we work hard to put our work out there and these filthy thieves just copy paste these hubs and slap AdSense code. Isn't there anything we can do to stop someone from copying anything like some bloggers do?
They don't copy and paste, the process is much more sophisticated than that Wowtgp!
Autoblogs typically scrape content via the setting up of 'cron jobs.' The main disadvantage is that it can be heavy on server resources. Content is typically scraped from the site feed, which is why plagiarized articles can appear within minutes of the original being published.
Hope this helps!
Isn't there any way to stop them from doing it? It sounds disastrous.
No there isn't. Part of being an online content producer is looking after your own copyright, tracking down those that steal from you and dealing with it through the proper channels..
Dang it! It must be so tedious! I will be perplexed if I see my work being stolen by someone.
On RedGage, when an attempt is made to copy, scrap or do anything but share through legitimate sources a warning is posted cautioning the potential thief from doing so.
I'd be surprised if they can stop automatic scrapers?
Can they also stop someone looking at the page source and copying the text from there?
The system Redgage has might stop your average copy and paster, (usually someone who just wants to share something with friends or on a forum and doesn't understand copyright), but not a determined content thief.
It is some effort by the hosting sight. Not meant as an argument, just saying that a bit of effort is nice. Thank you.
They stole one of my poems I wrote yesterday. Had nothing to do with cars. Infuriating, it even ranks above me in google search. What can I do?
And this one they have stolen twice, http://eddiecarrara.hubpages.com/hub/Br … with-a-car
And this one they have stolen 6 times, http://live-n-learn.hubpages.com/hub/Ch … ry---Guide
I am now willing to wager that, at minimum, they have stolen every single hub at http://hubpages.com/topics/autos/170
HP really should have some sort of system set up to deal with blanket thefts like this...
I just filed a 2nd DMCA for another one of my articles that I found there.
@HP Ya know, what with that website probably copying your entire auto section, I'd guess they are taking at least $200 a day in actual cash ad revenue from you. That's $73,000 a year (in actuality, I'd guess it's a lot more). Cash. I would think that would be important to you...
Does filing a DMCA complaint for plagiarism make them lose there adsense account permanatley
When the whole site is stolen content, you betcha. The problem is how long it will take Google to figure that out...
Yes they will be banned from adsense, and not get earnings from the time they are reported.
Depressed as hell. Going to go do some chores and watch a movie.
Every article I've checked at http://hubpages.com/topics/autos/170 is also on their website I believe. It's not a pretty picture...
If Google does not stomp on that website, I officially give up being an online writer.
As of July 27th, w w w . car article . net is still robbing HP and Hubbers blind. Including this article, http://kathrynvercillo.hubpages.com/hub … California
And it looks like the site is branching out and stealing anything and everything, not just auto hubs anymore.
Thanks for this thread, PD. It looks like the entire site is stolen articles. I found two auto related hubs by Time Spiral and alerted him. Sites like that look suspicious when there is no About page or way to identify or contact them.
The site is hosted in Istanbul, so DMCA will not apply there, as regards getting the content removed. However, you should file a DMCA to Google search for INDEXED site (if they're not showing on Google search then they will be rejected).
Also, as there are adsense ads on the site, you can log in and submit a complaint via your adsense account.
As far as I can tell, this is a Wordpress BLOG not a Wordpress SITE. This is not hosted by Wordpress and therefore, is nothing to do with them.
Thank you Marketing Merit.
Folks, here is the HP-supplied link for Removing Content From Google: http://support.google.com/bin/static.py … ;&rd=1 Select "Web Search".
(In my opinion) If you have to have to login to the site with wordpress user name and password- it's connected to wordpress.
I did not have to log in. They have thousands of stolen articles, word for word, hurls are only changed by putting their "car article"
Those b4stards stole my articles!
I'm going to go through the Google reporting process, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Getting removed from Google services certainly removes about 80% of their potential traffic, but not all of it, meaning our scores with Yahoo/Bing and other types of aggregate search engines will suffer.
I've considered contacting the proper body in Turkey.
Perhaps we can find a way to take more drastic measures versus these grand thefts.
Here's a post Marketing Merit made...
Getting their AdSense revoked would be good...
"Google, copyright holders agree on plan to starve piracy sites of cash"
http://bgr.com/2013/07/17/google-anti-p … nitiative/
Ok, folks. The article has lots of links in it. Whoever follows all the winding trails and first finds the direct link to report offenders, WINS!
When found, post it here. Then we will ALL use it...
Jeez, so far all I'm finding is a bunch of articles and blurbs stating the opinion that Google doesn't not only care, but is happy about the additional ad revenue from the piracy sites. Think I'll console myself with a decent lunch...
Seems like the more advanced technology gets, the more it brings out the worst in people. The internet is a perfect example of this. Seriously, every time one turns around, somebody is stealing something. Who knew there were so many thieves in this world...? Contemplating becoming a monk.
On the whois loookup for the site it says this:
"PRIVACYPROTECT.ORG is providing privacy protection services to this domain name to protect the owner from spam and phishing attacks. PrivacyProtect.org is not responsible for any of the activities associated with this domain name. If you wish to report any abuse concerning the usage of this domain name, you may do so at http://privacyprotect.org/contact. If you go to privacyprotect.org they say:
"We are very particular about ensuring that our services are not used to camouflage any abusive, malicious or illegal activity. That being said, the service is available to nearly 3 million domain names, and we might not be able to track down every one immediately. In case you find any domain name using PrivacyProtect.org services indulging in any kind of illegal activity, please inform us using the Report Abuse form on the home page, and provide all evidence that you can about such activity.
Our compliance team will review the complaint and disable the service for the domain name, to unmask the identity of the person who owns it. Bumping this worthy post. With its links...
Just a quick update. Yep, I've confirmed that the website has branched out from automotive and is now stealing hubs from every topic under the sun. Example: http://angelaharris.hubpages.com/hub/Be … -Interview My impression is that they are confining themselves to just stealing from HubPages. If so, then according to Google, they've stolen about 1,600 hubs so far. And their AdSense ads continue to perk right along...
Eight more articles were added in the short time I was looking at this site - he's going for business at the moment, so check him out if you've got hubs about jobs/interviews/employment.
He's opened up holiday and health categories too, but only one hub added to each so far.
I'm unable to access this site now - I get the "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect" message - is it my computer or is it gone?
I hate to burst the happy bubble, but I just went to the offending site. It was still there. I can still see the article they stole from me and many many many others. Why do you think it is gone? Am I missing something?
Drat! Thought it was too good to be true. Yes, it's there again, more pages added - lots of health related stuff. I've seen hubs by Wrylilt, MissOlive, Patty Inglish and Nettlemere added today.
If you find your work and haven't already done so, file a DMCA and file an abuse report to Adsense.
Excuse my ignorance, but how do I know if they have stolen my hubs?
The site was down yesterday when several of us posted here - we have since commented that it is now back up and it has been reported that it has branched out from just posting car hubs. No one was "trying" anything, just reporting what was happening.
Thank you. It has been up. I understand why many Hubbers shy away from forums, but I also know a few things about Trolls Pirates and bullies. I was not pointing a finger at any one person, just asking those who are really losing in this to think about who they are taking information from...that is all :-)
Congrats to all!! Great work guys... I confirm too.... My auto articles are safe now... phew!!
It is still up and running. I think we need to exhibit caution on who we take advice from in these forums. Consider these thieves and the investment they have in keeping us feeding them. Do you think they do not write beside us? Digital Millineum Copyright Act is the best way to protect yourself from what is stolen, a report filed directly with AdSense, and finally HubPages are the steps to halt this for now.
They are still up. Thousands of stolen Hubs
Many thanks to Judi for alerting me to my hubs copied on this site.
They've copied way more than automotive hubs - anyone who writes about business, employment issues and health should check for copied content. I recognized several from familiar Hubbers.
http:/ /www. car article .ne t/car-safety-recalls-why-do-we-need to take our-car-to-the-garage/ is stolen from one of our Hubbers, I remember reading it on a Hubber I follow... anyone? It was stolen from Nell Rose
Please delete that slime link... Break up the text so it will still show, but not be a live link.
Thanks. Again, thank you for making us aware! (((Hugs)))
OK, now the site is not showing... Not only the site but the copied article is also not showing... Can others confirm?
How much time is it going to take for Google to fix it up?
No wowtgp,
It has definitely gone. At least my articles are not showing.. .Maybe google is taking down one by one, in sequence to the raised DMCA... Therefore, some are still showing... Maybe...
Here is confirmation dude,
Search for 'fastest cars and bikes in the world' and you will see the following notice at the end of the first search result page:
In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.
And when you open the DMCA complaint, you see that it is mine... So, Google is acting in sequence..
Hmmmm.... I noticed that, but the site is still up.
The site cannot be taken down directly, I had actually written to the host at:
info@turkishost.com
And they started me giving crap about sending a legal notice only after which they can take it down... Silly beings, if you ask me.. Anyways, the good news is that DMCA complaints are working and we all should be seeing the result in some time.
DMCA takedown notices ARE legal notices, but they have to be written in the correct format. Also, even though the website is hosted in Turkey if everyone who has had content copied sends the host DMCA's they may just get pissed off enough to take it down.
When you send a DMCA to Google search they will generally take the copied page out of their search results. Sometimes they will take the whole website out of their search results if they get enough DMCA complaints, but the website will still exist - it will still be found on Yahoo, Bing etc. Google does not have the power to take down a whole website, only the host can do that.
And if no-one has done it already, it would be well worth making a complaint to privacyprotect, as they say they will not only take away the domain owners privacy (which will shit them up a bit), they will also report them to the domain registrar (which will further make life difficult for them).
Good morning, campers!
The bad news. The car article . net website is still present and indexed all over Google.
The good news. The AdSense ads are gone; implication being their account has been revoked. That should slow down their motivation. Also, I've gotten the impression their pages rank considerably lower than the hubs they stole them from.
Happy Wednesday.
More good news Hubbers...add rank08 to the http address of your high ranking hubs...not only have they hacked Hubs converting them to French, but HubPages name as well. I notified HubPages doing the other filings as well.
Has anybody had any luck getting this car article site to take down their material? It is outranking me if I search for an internal sentence from my hub. If I search the title, it isn't yet, thankfully, but the theives still have their site up. Still mad as hell about this!!!!
This bag of douche sniped my most recent article, which was published over the weekend. Between this guy and the French choad, I'm officially sick of filing DCMAs which seem to have no effect.
This will probably be deleted b 4 read, but recommend filing complaint with F B I
FBI? LOL
People don't seem to be bothering to go through the DMCA process as evidenced in this report: http://www.google.com/transparencyrepor … ticle.net/
If people don't take responsibility for their own copyright and instead expect some other agency to deal with it, then this site is not going to get removed from search, from the host, etc. it's that simple.
I only found two of my Hubs there yesterday through Copyscape, and there wasn't any point in filing a DMCA with Google because, by then, the site had already been removed from search results.
It took me a long time to find the correct email address to file a complaint with the host:
abuse@turkishost.com
I sent the complaint yesterday under the World Intellectual Property Organization Copyright Treaty. (The host is in Instanbol, Turkey, and is obligated under WIPOC, not the DMCA.)
So, the site has been taken down.
Now, everyone needs to remove the cache of stolen pages with Bing and Google.
In retrospect, I posted on the Forum about suspicious activity on HubPages from visits originating from Turkey, a known source of webspam. (There are very, very few English speakers in that country to be legitimately visiting HubPages en masse as I noted in my post.) According to Google, websites hosted in Turkey have the highest percentage of webspam and that should have been a red flag to someone in the tech department at HP. Apparently, it wasn't.

I've just contacted infolinks.com, the current advertisers on the site.
I suggest everyone else does as well.

I also discovered today that they had one of my fitness articles. I found that out using copyscape. However, it appears that the site is no longer active. Can someone confirm this? I had a huge drop in traffic to my Hub a couple of weeks ago, and now I wonder after the last algorithm upgrade if this site may have killed my traffic.
Anyway, I hope they are gone for good now. Unfortunately I still show them as duplicate on copyscape.
I don't want to speak too soon, but it does appear to be gone. However, the healthylivingbox site has stolen the same article that the cararticle people stole. I suggest you check that out and file against them as well.

There is so much of this going on that it may not be worthwhile to mention. Since I know that this site is not cooperative, I sent my DMCA complaint to Google. My hub is copied word for word with all the lovely photographs and even a link to another similar hub. It probably is my best hub with lots...

Perhaps this is already widely known, but I have just found most of my hubs copied in their entirety on hubinfo.netThere are literally thousands of our hubs there, all categorized, basically a cheap replica of hubpages. Is there anything to be done about such a site?
by Sally Gulbrandsen 9 years ago
I find this all so depressing. Can anyone tell me how long after filing a DMCA complaint does it take to resolve these issues - or is it as long as a piece of string? How does earth does one motivate oneself to write more hubs when this continues to happen.
by Jessica 11 years ago
I found out this morning that this site had stolen at least 2 of my hubs. The more I looked, the more I noticed that it appears every single post on the site is a stolen hub, completely copied in most cases (including the authors' names and copyright notes, ironically). I see lots of names of...

After reading the other forums on copied hubs, I ran a check on several of mine. I found two at:http://the-alps (dot) us/and I suspect there are lots of other hubbers' hubs there. A quick search found a hub by Admiral Murrah, but there are many articles on the site, obviously copied. Also one hub...

I wrote my first hub a few days ago. To my surprise, it was labelled duplicate content. I contacted Team HubPages about the matter because this was my original work. Now it turns out someone actually posted the full content on their Blogger account. I am now following up the issue and considering...
