I know it's been suggested before, but please reconsider allowing threads concerning sites posting stolen content to be stickied.
Just today there are several threads regarding the same sites, people cross-posting and getting mixed up on which site is being discussed. It's not surprising; the posts disappear and unless someone "bumps" them regularly they get lost.
You could have a "this week's crooks" thread or similar, giving details and keeping (hopefully) all the discussion in one place, updating when the site is taken down.
Thanks.
I second that, this would really reduce duplicate threads and people not knowing whether sites have been taken down yet or not etc. Right now it is getting very confusing and hard to follow with new threads popping up all over the place.
This is a good suggestion. We will discuss it in our community meeting on Thursday, and I'll let you know. Thanks, Judi! Robin
I completely agree iwth Judi Bee's suggestion. It's very confusing and a lot of people don't even know there work has been copied. I have seen forum posts started about copied content and some users only finding out months later... If we had something on the first page that was stickied it would make a world of difference. It can be very frustrating and confusing when you are actively dealing with content thieves and this would make it a lot easier for hubpage users.
Hi, Judi. We discussed this today in our meeting. It's our policy to only sticky announcements and official HubPages related programs. If this type of post was stickied, we would have to monitor the Forum and new Forums that arose - a difficult task. Thanks for the suggestion.
"we would have to monitor the Forum and new Forums that arose - a difficult task"
I thought the forum was monitored. Rankings on search can drop like a stone when content is plagiarized and appears on another site. It's baffling that the HP staff doesn't consider this phenomenon as an important element in improving the site and traffic from Google.
Is there a way someone could bookmark the threads. We waste time doing retreads when information exists on other threads. This has happened to me and others in the past?
Maybe have a separate place (forum) to put copied hub threads, and have a big note that HubPages does not monitor the threads.

We've heard several concerns about Hubs getting copied and losing traffic and we know how frustrating this is for the author. Google tries to identify the original content creator and show that in the search results. If you have a copied Hub that is getting outranked in the search...

As hubbers, we know that our content can and will be copied. We file DMCA complaints. We try to use CopyScape. We try to sign up for Google alerts. Is there any other way to help protect our content BEFORE it happens, rather than suffering the after-effects of losing Google traffic and having...

I have had this warning on a few of my hubs for some time and, thankfully, have had the offending pages removed from the web. However, the warnings persist on my hub list. How can I get these removed now the problem has been dealt with? Thanks!

There is so much of this going on that it may not be worthwhile to mention. Since I know that this site is not cooperative, I sent my DMCA complaint to Google. My hub is copied word for word with all the lovely photographs and even a link to another similar hub. It probably is my best hub with lots...
