What makes the religious forums the most controversial, confrontational, contentious, fascinating, and highly dangerous forums around? One is apprehensive of entering and participating but is somehow drawn to this forum as if there is some perverse curiosity about it !
I'm drawn to it simply because I find the subject matter fascinating, yet I don't perceive opposing views as a real threat. Unlike politics, where different ideologies could seriously affect my life if they took hold and came into power. Discussion of religion gives us a window into the inner workings of the mind of other individuals. Religion shows our hopes and dreams, how we view our fellow man, how we view ourselves and how we view the universe.
That's true. You are repelled and entranced simultaneously by observing interactions in the Religion Forum. You simply cannot leave, you want to know WHAT ELSE is going to occur and WHERE the conversation and discussion are going and to what type of conclusion, if any. As I have said, the Religion Forums are like NO OTHER forum. It is UNIQUE beyond words.

It is my contention that the Christian religion (and specifically following Christ) is guaranteed to cause conflict, wars and ill will.As proof - I cite the last 1800 years - including the hubpages forums as evidence. Not only are these forums littered with arguments between atheists and believers,...

This thread is an effort to discuss the doctrine of sin and salvation within the Christian religion. We will have to begin by discussing the problem of sin and then the measures taken to deal with it in the wilderness sanctuary. We will then proceed to show how the sacrifices met their fulfilment in...

When speaking of religion and someone says they are an "agnostic", how should a Christian respond?

Why are there so many questions here concerning Christian(or belief in God) vs Atheism? Is this the best platform for discussing these issues and are people really interested in the answers, or is religion vs non-religion just a controversial topic that will attract lots of debate and generate money...
