Has anyone else discovered geocaching? It is treasure hunting using your personal or handheld gps devices, and it is incredibly fun.

I just wrote a hub about it, and my profile on geocaching.com is run.like.pre

I love geocaching, my kids adore it.  We go often, as a great way to get out of the house, enjoy the outdoors, and have a fun treasure hunt.  Cost-effectve, too!  We just recently got a box to hide and a travel bug.  We're trying to decide where to hide it now, and where we want the travel bug to end up.  Here's to geocaching!

I really love the fact that it makes a great family activity... I have been looking for something that I can do with my son on a regular basis that does not cost a lot of money, and this is perfect.

I have a pic of him holding his first geocache find and he is so excited. He even calls it our new hobby.

Umm, is it a Christian thing to ignore the forum rules?

      What?

I am just asking if there is anyone else around here that gecaches. That is against the rules?

no... I was talking about a topic that I have started writing about... this is a writing community, right?

It is also a hobby that I have taken up and was wondering if any other hubbers geocache, so that we can talk about it.

and what does being Christian have to do with anything?

Rilly? The beauty of public forums is that everything got recorded, and everybody can draw their own opinion based on real data, not some mistranslations or misinterpretations. So, let's see what you wrote in the opening post:
How is that not promoting your hub and your profile on some outside site? So looks like you are trying to get away with breaking forum rules using outright lies. Sorry, won't work here. smile
You proudly display your belonging to this cult in your avatar, and your behavior does not benefit its image. But frankly there is not much left to damage, we've seen so many Christian spammers before you smile

OKay... lets take this thread in another direction then. Why does it bother you that I display Christ in my avatar, or that I am Christian? I did nothing or said nothing regarding religion, nor did I attempt preach to you.

What is the difference between my avatar and someone proudly displaying an avatar for, lets say, Wicca? I use the example of Wicca because the artwork I have seen for it is actually pretty nice and captures my attention.

You say my behavior does not benefit the image of Christianity, but I was not trying to promote Christianity nor was the post in any way remotely related to Christianity. So in actuality if my post is considered spam it does more to hurt the image of geocaching than it does to hurt the image of Christianity.

I have also seen a lot of "Christian" spammers in various forums. But why would you call me a "christian spammer" in this case, when spammer would have been just as fitting.

The honest truth here is that I was not trying to promote my hub, but I was posting messages in order to get my hubber rating up. That actually appears to be the most effective way to do it.

I will freely talk about religion when it is appropriate, and never deny Christ, but I don't self righteously preach to others and condemn people. That goes against everything that Christ taught.

I am here to write, read, and share with others. What I write about and post is my choice... if you are so against spam posts, than why do you reply to them?
