On Friday 102 years old General Giap died.Great warrior who defeated super power by will, spirit and courage.he was not a regular soldier but he united Vietnamese and fought against French army and defeated them in Dian-Bien -Phu siege , European power surrendered to tiny Asian nation.
USA deterred Vietnam to help south Vietnam to restore democracy but it was an eyewash.
They tested their advanced weapons and used chemical weapon 'Agent Orange' but could not defeat Vietnam.
Spirit and sword, Spirit won  against sword. Vietnam and her people fought a battle and Americans bite the dust.
Post WWII , it was a great military victory and proved just weapons and resources can not win war.
We pay homage to this great general of 20 th century and hero of third world.

And after losing the Vietnam War, the U.S. goes into Iraq and does the same thing all over again, losing the war to  the people of Iraq, who are simply sick of them.

Aside from acknowledging General Giap, let's acknowledge the fact that people in the U.S. resisted President Obama's wish to invade Syria and won.

It truly seems like the resistance Obama faced invading Syria was a positive step in bi partisan movement that many could unite on.

Actually the people of Iraq lost. They lost their country to militant jihadist extremists that don't even come from Iraq in the first place.

As for Vietnam the war was in the end fought over political ideologies.

If you think Iraq lost a lot with the wars wait till you get a load of Afghanistan after we vacate. Karzai wants to allow the Taliban back into the election process.

    Thank you guys.
I appreciate  anti-war attitude and contain super power ambitions to dictate world affairs.
Political system either Democracy or dictatorship or Authoritarian system cannot be forced on any nation. People of that nations only decide what they want.
Arms lobby and Military-Industrial complex was a glamor of the 60s but it has to be dismantled.
Cold war is still on but not by military might but on trade, economic and for resources , claims for areas and transnational rivers and water distribution are going on in different parts of the world.
In south China sea nations have bitter clashes for oil blocs and resources.
Resource sharing can be done by consensus and not by military conflicts
