I found out about this site on accident because, I guess for some reason, one of my websites is connected to a couple of about.me profiles, according to the stats I read. Don't know how it happened. At any rate, I checked out the site and came to find out it's about creating a profile that is a central location to find all of your stuff online. A visitor will see all your profiles from across the Net all in this one location. It almost seems like a good way to promote your brand/content. The look of the site is sleek and looks to have ways of customizing your profile to look very nice and professional. So, does anyone have experience with about.me and do you consider it a good site for having a central location where your online brand and content can be promoted?
I have had an about.me page for a few years now. It makes things much tidier for my business cards, but it's not a promotional powerhouse itself.
I only signed up for one last week and probably won't be back.
But I have my own name as a .com and it has all the info anyone would need about me - contact form, all my social links, my qualifications, what services I provide etc.
I can see about.me as a good alternative if you don't have your own website though.
I've had one for years. Some site I'm signed up with suggested people get one and add it to their profile. I forget which site it is.
Anyway, I set it up, which took very little time, have had it for years, and don't do anything much with it. There's certainly no harm in having it set up. If I recall correctly, it was in the days before Google/Google+ profiles were up and running but people were becoming more and more aware of a need to establish that type of thing. I'm a big one for setting up stuff "in case I ever want or need to do more with it at some point."
I set one up ages ago, never really used it and nobody really visited it. If you think it will be useful for you to promote your About Me page yourself, rather than promoting each of your profiles individually, then obviously it will be very good for that. But if you aren't going to promote it yourself then there is no point.

Does anyone know? Will we wake up, log in, new profile? Or will there be notice? Seems we will have to edit; choose whether we want our real name displayed, what links we want included, etc. I realize it will happen when and how it does, but I'm just curious.

If I go on my profile page I see a bunch of html codes with my publisher ID on top and the page does not fully load.

I just updated my HubPages profile a couple days ago and in my profile linked to some of my favorite hub topics that I wrote about. Is this bad to do this since on the profile page we have those same hubs randomly come up below? I just don't want overkill but like the thought that I've got my...

I was studying the Authorship Markup on the new profile format that has been released for staff only at this time. I noticed that the HTML link to other profiles is coded as rel="me nofollow". This defeats the purpose of rel="me" for Google authorship markup since...

I have noticed in the past few days while Hub Hopping and scanning my feed that there are a plethora of new hubs and hubbers joining the site and publishing low quality or poorly translated/spun hubs. When I click on the profile after flagging the hubs, I notice that there is no information about...
