A Hub Score Oddity

Here is a bit of food for thought. One of my best performing hubs "A Bikini Photo Shoot" with over a thousand and a half views had always kept a high hub score. I did a little edit yesterday and am surprised to see it this morning with the lowest hub score out of my 633 hubs. Mind you I regularly edit hubs and the edit on this hub was nothing major (just added a photo).

Any idea of why this happened????????

Was the model in the picture one of the Golden Girls?

Yes. You randomly got the same, dork mturk that I have stumbled across from time to time. Whoever it is; that person either lives a bitter life and/or has a hidden agenda.

For what it's worth, I don't think that person is on Amazon during approximate HP daylight hours.

I'm pretty sure that person is online pre-daylight. So much so, I won't do updates during that time any more.

Maybe do some more tweaks and try again during the HP day? Your results may vary, but worth a shot?

However, this hub has been published for several months and this should not have occurred.

Think they are picking on me, was the model not attractive, should I have put some guys in bikinis, PLEASE help me I am drowning in the sorrow of sarcasm.

        I Know, it's a conspiracy!!!!!!

You have had over "over a thousand and a half views", and the hub  "has been published for several months" and not ONE comment yet? Well, this is odd indeed. Seems there is a lot less bikini than there is skin.

I had a hub with several  images of classic art  by old masters and ads were disabled on it due to "nudity". Nudity! --  in masterpiece classic art that has been admired and appreciated for generations, some over a century old and it is not "appropriate" for HP because "Google will not like it."

That is odd because a staff member recently published a hub on art nudes and last time I looked, it had adverts!

I think 404 is right -- that there is one mTurk who is downgrading hubs that he/she personally does not like the subject or images. I would like to see that hub a staff member published. The images in my hub are beautiful and the hub itself has done very well and is featured, just no ads.

Izzy, I wonder if the majestic and beautiful statue of David by Michelangelo would be accepted?  How am I to write hubs on mythology without including images of gods and goddesses who never wore clothes. LOL

Probably best to avoid any nude art. The hub you linked and the staff member's have no adverts now.

What does it have to do with anything????
The issue is the oddity of going from 80 to 59 in 24 hours.

Why don't you try editing again, put the photo back in, and see what kind of score it gets when you republish.  If it is still too low, email the team and ask them to review the score.

Sorry, Luis. It do believe some mturks and others who rate hubs are not being fair. It seems like some of them rate on personal opinions rather than looking at the hub overall and giving accurate ratings.

I just posted a picture, some text, and a link to your hub on my main website. I will be extremely interested in the resulting traffic; both yours and mine. lol

I took a look at the hub, and it seems fine to me. I know similar hubs exist and don't understand why a published hub should drop so far in score. Your photography hubs are outstanding, and I hope you will get a better score.

I don't think ppl really like pics of women in bikinis, to be honest with you. Next time, try to pick a more popular subject... not for the art of self expression this time, but just for the sheer commercialism. I know you can do it! smile

It was just another photo shoot project, (remember that I write about photographing anything) done a few months ago and what was odd is that it went from a hub score in the 80's to 59 in one day. That is not normal and completely out of the ordinary. I can understand if I had done more of a substantial edit but not by simply adding one photograph.

When my hubs go through QAP, they never have good scores. I can write a stellar hub, and it never seems to matter. I wish I knew the answer.

I checked out the Hub in question, and I found a few spelling errors, a couple areas where the punctuation and grammar aren't quite right, but nothing that stands out. Maybe someone flagged it as inappropriate because of the pictures, without actually reading it. I have no idea.

I would say QAP has limitations, and bikinis sound good to me.

I think PDS is correct in that there is someone who does not care for certain articles, and when that person gets ahold of them they might be graded down.
I submitted a hub the other day and it was not featured. I could not believe it and submitted it again. On the second run through it became an Editors Choice.
    Makes absolutely no sense.

Hmm, I just noticed that one of my hubs has gone down by a similar amount today...  All I did was add an extra photo and a video to the hub, because I was following the advice from HubPages on how to improve the hub.  (The advice that appears on the right-hand side of the page when in edit mode).

I think that they do add something to the hub and make it more interesting, but obviously someone doesn't agree!

My hub is about dodgy adverts that appear online, and the photo and video are about these too.  Maybe HP thought I was somehow endorsing these ads, but the hub actually does the opposite!

So I'll probably remove them again and see what happens.  Really annoying that I have to though..

Oh dear!   You must have rocked the boat into a tidal wave!  That's rather scary, actually.  Makes me wonder whether to touch a hub to edit it.....must we now tip toe in secret somehow so they don't know??   Shhhhhh!
