   i have experienced rejection of my hubs that had Scripture quotations on the grounds that it was copied material. This seems like a problem in that one writer may use the same passages of the Bible for an entirely different emphasis. This rejection forces me to edit the article in such a manner that the force of the article  is weekend.

      So long at the direct quote is a small part of the total (like 5%) it is not normally a problem.

         Well, the Scripture quote was most likely more than 5%. I felt they were need. My suggestion is that HubPages could follow the Bible publisher's requirements. But they would have to have a system to discriminate between the Bilbe and other published works. Not sure they do that.

      Are you using the quote feature? When you use this the filters will know what you have quoted in your hub and likely ignore it.
      Anything you are quoting, you must put in automatic quotes for it to work. If you don't know how to use it here is a little tutorial:
      
      1) in edit mode click edit on the capsule where the quote is.
      2) select the text you want quoted
      3) on the edit bar see the quotation marks ("), click it.
      your text will now be aligned right and color will be pale.
      Do this with all the scriptures you quote and you should be okay. Make sure to back up your scripture with original text.

            Wow, 5 featured hubs in 2 days is very impressive. Nice job!
            I wonder if you could use italics as book authors will use italics instead of quotes sometimes.

      Although we do not specifically forbid quote, lyric, or scripture content, such Hubs need to be predominantly original material.
      
      Scripture/lyrics/quotes can be more problematic for Hubs that are not very long as they can end up being a large portion of the content.
      
      If you revise your Hub and add a larger portion of original commentary or editorial content, then you should be able to reduce the level of duplication.
      
      You may also want to consider using scripture/lyrics/quotes as a lower percentage of the total Hub content.

   Hi Bishop - I took the liberty of writing to Team@hubpages.com because I encouraged you to join and you already have five featured hubs in two days!!  I use a lot of scripture in my hubs and have never had a problem.  I do use various versions, yet I know you stick to the KJV.  Many people probably have passages of scripture quoted in their hubs here on HubPages.  They really do need to do something about this, so you can freely post public-domain Bible passages without having to change the text or reduce the use of Scriptures because it 'flags' as possible copied content.  I still encourage you to email them, but I will let you know when they respond.
