Amazon Affiliate Program

   I have problem using the Amazon Affiliate Program.
   
   I understand I can earn money  through my featured hubs using the amazon
   Afffiliate Program even though I don't have yet an adsense account. 
   
   My earning setting show my Amazon Affiliate already active but still I can't figure out how it can generate income.

      You just need to edit your hubs and add Amazon capsules. They're there with all the other capsules you can add (text, video, eBay, etc). List  items relevant to your hubs' content, and when someone clicks through to Amazon and buys something, you earn commission.

      I just noticed that for the new HubPages-Amazon program, you need Adsense, so you'll have to stick with the old one for now.

         When you add Amazon Capsules into you Hub, does Amazon charge you for advertising their product that you display?  If so, it just negate share of earnings from the ad?

      Amazon ads won't appear unless you create them.  You also need to be enrolled in the Amazon Associates program.

         Getting more confused.  I hear/see Amazon Associate and Amazon Affiliate programs.  Are these 2 different programs with different settings?  I don't know the difference.  Which one is more convenient to use for HubPages, I mean with easier start up steps to complete?

            Hub pages recently introduced an alternative to the Amazon program (whatever its proper name is). If you have an Adsense account, you can join the Amazon program through HubPages, which, apparently, is more beneficial than directly with Amazon.
            You have an active Amazon program, but you don't have Adsense, so you're still in the older program. When you get an Adsense account, you can change to the Amazon-Hubpages program. If you don't like it, you can go back to your current setting.

               I was able to display ads in one of my article in HubPages by clicking Amazon logo already displayed on the page, and moving it the bottom of my article thereby creating a capsule.  I then put in the product I wanted to  advertise.  Question:  Is this procedure "Amazon-Hubpages Program"? Remember, I don't have yet an active adsense account.

                  As I said in the post above "You have an active Amazon program, but you don't have Adsense, so you're still in the older program."
                  You're not in the Hubpages-Amazon program.

                     Thanks Chasmac.  As long as I can monetize with the "older program" it's okay with me.  In the meantime I will have to keep on improving my hub's content and adding more articles so I can qualify for the adsense program.

                  Do you split your text up into several text capsules?   It's a good idea to do so, so you can place images and Amazon capsules in the body of your Hub, not just at the bottom.   Products at the bottom of a Hub generally don't sell well.

                     Oh thanks Marisa for pointing that out.  Yes I have several text capsules. When I realized that my ads were both at the bottom of the last capsule, I moved them up and positioned them at the right side of the text.  I did that for aesthetic value, not knowing that it will be more marketable that way.
