I personally have never called you a genius if that makes you feel any better, but if I do, I promise to read your work first. smile

Genius comes in many forms. Got to agree with, Cardisa, though. When in Rome do as the Romans....engaging with the HP community more will help to spread word of your particular brand of G.

    1. Never trust the opinion of friends, they are never going to say anything negative about your work.

    2.  Bear in mind that many people will say a piece of artwork, poetry or performance is "genius" merely because they don't understand it, and they're afraid that could mean it's brilliant and they're stupid.  Even though the reverse is more like the truth.

Comedy bit, maybe....definitely a work of G. Practice your English and lines like 'girls like small things like babies and big things like d*cks' might be found offensive by some. You might want to excise that one and other similar lines. Just sayin' as they say.

i put in bad stuff mostly out of hopelessness but also to make the other stuff look REALLY GOOD thanks, you know its funny though, i could have easily gone with houses

'Houses' would work better and are not as likely to cause offense.

He might also want to remember that the stage directions in a screenplay really aren't meant for artistic endeavors. That is, of course, unless his artistic endeavor involves having to have his screenplay surgically removed from whatever convenient orifice an actor/director/set designer chooses to place it in.

MelissaBarrettposted 10 years agoin reply to this

          Not contrite or jealous. Sorry.

I've noticed working with other writers, especially poets, that there is an occasional tendency to overestimate one's talent. Not saying you don't have talent, I'm saying that it's not really genius level. The fishing for complements thing never works out well either. What you are essentially doing is saying "Tell me I'm a genius or I'm going to get defensive."

And what the hell is a  neosporin breeze?

Nor, apparently, did you. If you don't want critiques, don't ask for them.

If you just want people to tell you that you are a genius... I suggest asking your friends their opinion.

If you can't be bothered to spell-check and capitalize your comments, I cant be bothered reading your articles. Genius? Huh!

                Prove it.

How dare you say writers are uninspiring, when some of the best writers on this site have responded to you? We could assume you are referring to them. You can't see outside your own ego that others might be more capable than you.

I suspect you are what might be termed in the UK, "care in the community". Good luck!

    1. foemeno profile image61
foemenoposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Self analysis tells me recently that once i started writing that the winters are always tough, smoking doesnt help. I wouldn't care if it were true or not either way I feel I am an outcast and it wouldnt help you to say i wasnt because I am, But from what I remember thinking in the summer is that words have many different meanings, to me an immigrant who can barely speak his own language let alone english fixes my car with a wad of gum he just so happened to have been chewing is enough to call him a genius, he wouldnt care what the word meant just that i had a smile cause i could now drive home... see

janesixposted 10 years agoin reply to this

Well I wouldn't say you weren't, anyway. It's not my place to judge you. If you think you are, then maybe you are.

I am an outcast too, so I know how you feel, maybe. Good luck on your writing, I will check out your hubs later when I have a bit more time.

        Have a nice day:)

Being called a "genius" or not is of no importance at all.  What matters is whether you are happy and whether you are doing good in the world.
