My CPM was the lowest in the last 12 months yesterday, in a week of lows. Anyone else seeing this? What is happening and Why?

Forgive my ignorance, but what does "CPM" stand for?

It's "cost per mille" meaning cost per 1000 page impressions.
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cost_per_mille

Quick example, if your HP acct got a total of 8000 impressions yesterday and your earnings for yesterday were $12, then your CPM would be $12/8 = $1.50.

Oh, thank you so much for the clarification!  And now for another question of ignorance ... impressions ... meaning views?  I am so low tech, sorry.  I appreciate you answering here though.

You can also find an explanation for impressions on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impression_(online_media)

Basically CPM is the dollars earned per 1000 views.
Let's say you get 1000 views.
        ► with a CPM of $3.00  you earn $3.00
        ► with a CPM of $6.00  you earn $6.00
So your total average earnings depends on traffic and your average CPM.

It's not per views, but per impressions under the HP Ad Program.  On my account, my impressions equal more like 50% of total views instead of the 40% I thought it was supposed to be.

Hmm, okay. Where does one look to find the impressions, or do we just do the math?

Go to your 'Ad Programs Earnings' page.  Ad Impressions is the first column on the left: Impressions - CPM - Earnings.  Impressions are  much less than your daily views.

... Impressions are  much less than your daily views. .... because of the 60:40 share.

Did you read my comment above?  My Impressions are 50 to 55% of daily views.

Yesterday was good for me. However today I have had 2, yes 2 views since I woke up 12 hours ago. Really frustrating.
