What in the world is going on? After two months of declining page views, I hit the lowest today, losing 50% of my normal page views. Someone recommended I delete the editor's choice program which I did a few weeks ago. Now I have hit bottom. This also means that my earnings are reduced by half!
This is most frustrating. Anyone in the same boat? Any strategy to halt this never-ending dive?
I have been experiencing significant drops recently. I usually have the most traffic on Sundays but right now its at where it usually is at one the worst day (mid-week). I also got my first copyright notification today, although I know I've been copied before without them.
I've become resigned to it. Another Summer Doldrums is indeed arriving. I've started another project to keep my mind off it.
I just checked. I am now getting more Pinterest hits than Google. In the last 24 hours my stats say I've got about 1000 hits from Pinterest but from all the Googles, no more than 800.
This is why it's important to have multiple traffic sources!
WryLilt,
I followed your advice many months ago, and put all my articles on Pinterest. I just checked, traffic from Pinterest is still very negligible.
Some tips for your Pinterest optimisation:
-Use nicer fonts instead of boring serifs. Use colors that go with or complement the images. Put the font on areas of the images that look like they go together, not just randomly thrown in any free space. Try centering your font too. Here is a great example of an MFP image where text and image work together: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/104497653828769654/
-Your MFPs don't tease or promise information that can't be found elsewhere or that would attract clicks. For instance "What Is Multiple Myeloma" is as interesting as a wikipedia article. You need to TEASE the reader, and make them want to read more.
-Don't do saturated or time based topics: for instance MH370. Every blog on the internet has written about this and in a few months it'll be old news (if it's not already).
-Be more specific - "Every cloud has a silver lining". I have no reason to click that image. It could just be a quote on a pretty picture for all I know.
"Are your kidneys ok?" - against, give more specifics. Tease. Something like "15 Ways To Tell Your Kidneys Are Sick".
-Don't go with saturated topics. Topics that much bigger websites with experts have already written about many times before. Get new angles, or be more niche with your topics. Especially sickness based ones - look for angles such as a certain symptom people might have, or if a certain medicine/activity/food will help the condition. And check on Google before you write, to see how many other people are writing on the same topic.
-9 Ways to protect your kidneys has a spelling error.
I've repinned the ones off your boards that showed some promise of getting repins. However you need to do quite a bit of work to get proper Pinterest traffic.

Hi Susannah,
Thanks for all the pointers. Shall correct the spelling. Will come back to reread and follow your advices.
By the way, I am referring to all my hubs which have been attracting good traffic and now the sudden plunge. Not why my hubs are not attracting traffic.
Great advice, WryLilt, on titles. I think it's time for one of your famous forum tutorials. Can you do one on title SEO? I will post it. Thanks Good luck, Good Guy, with your editing.
I have two weeks to finish my book Janshares, but remind me after that and I will!
I've seen a drop the past couple of days, I'm hoping people are just busy pampering their moms and don't have time to browse the net.
I've noticed a drop in traffic for the last few days. I'm hoping that this is just temporary.
Hubpages has been steadily going down for a few months - however my personal sites are seeing some gains..
Not going to panic just yet, google does tend to go up and down a lot so.......................
Unfortunately I'm rather new here and don't have much helpful advice..... yet. But I can confirm very low views during the time described. I also found the advice on utilizing Pinterest very helpful, so thank you for that!
I noticed a slight dip in views recently, but it has returned to normal now. The majority of my views come from pinterest and other shameless self promotion. I have also recently began monetising my hubs by adding relevant amazon capsules to all hubs- this has started to pay off as I made my first amazon sale recently. I still have work to do, and will be revisiting some older hubs to try and rejuvenate them- edit spelling and grammar, add further info, more pics etc. Don't be at the mercy of the dropping page views... Be more proactive, and things will begin to return to normal :-)
I've noticed a drop this weekend (roughly 33%) but I attribute it to the great weather and Mother's Day. It is also exam time, graduations, and end of classes for most college students so we may see significant and sudden drops this time of year.
Across the Midwest, we are finally seeing nice weather after a long winter. Anyone that enjoys gardening is out in their yards. The same with biking, fishing, barbecues etc.
My views always go down in the summer months. The Google views are the worst, but I've slowly had other sites link to my hubs. They seem to send more traffic in the summer months than Google.
Follow the advise about Pinterest and then work on getting more links elsewhere.
I sell on eBay and everyone is saying the same thing about sales dropping. It must have something to do with the time of year.
WryLilt - What program do you use to put text on a photo?
WryLilt
I did this one. Could you look at it and tell me what you think?

That happens to me as well. Maybe you need to revise the article so that it will be more relevant to the audiences

HiI have been at HubPages for about a month now and I have written 6 Hubs, but I'm having trouble getting views. Any help or tips on how to get more views would be much appreciated! Here's a link to my profile so if you could read one and give me some feedback that would be really...

I am experiencing an overall average off 66 percent less page views per day, for seven days versus a week previous and for the past two months. Such a huge drop in page views makes me think that Google has tuned up something again. I do know that I don't have the time and energy to keep...

Although income has been good, I've noticed that my views have dropped significantly...about 66%. I always expect a drop at this time of year, but this is a biggie. Anybody else? I'm a bit surprised by this big of a drop, but then again I wasn't watching views while I was doing...

I had to look twice at my stats today-I usually have around 60 to70 views/day-which is reasonable for my topics-because in the last 24 hours I've had 322! I am used to seeing lots of zeros next to my hubs, but it seems like they're all popular.Maybe I'm paranoid, but this creeps me out...Any...

First, please forgive me if this has been asked a hundred times already. I've tried searching through the forums, but without a better search feature, it's difficult to find out if someone has already asked about the same problem I'm having. The only thing that came close was "KNOWN ISSUE:...

Just curious how many pages views a day some of you are receiving. I'm up to about 300 a day on my content.
