HP Video vs. YouTube

   Hubbers, I'm going to start adding videos in a couple weeks to my Hubs, and trying to decide if I should use HP video or YouTube. Would love to hear pros and cons for both.

      Definitely post them on Youtube first, then embed those videos in ordinary Hubs.
      
      We had an experienced Youtuber do some experiments a while back, and he was very unimpressed with HP video Hubs.

      Personally I’ve seen great results using HP videos the ads are great and useful. It’s a great concept.  It’s a great way to reach out to your readers.
      Simone does a great job with her videos.
      And you can always lead your youtube followers over to read your Hubpages by adding your hubpage link in the youtube description portion.

   I think for url direction to the hubpages site its self hub videos are the better bet.

   Nope ..stick to the tried and proven formula...that is upload on You Tube and then embed the links on your hubs .. HP Videos dont seem to rank well on search engines ...at least from what I've understood ..

      I prefer HP videos (and not just because I work here!). I posted a video to YouTube once and got a single negative rating. That was enough for me to remove it and place it solely on HP. Clearly I'm too sensitive to anonymous Internet criticism, BUT I do feel that the HP community is much more supportive and helpful than on YouTube.
      
      If you are just starting out and want a "gentle" introduction to the world of video, I'd suggest posting here first. If you are seeking truly honest and helpful feedback, simply ask your viewers at the end of your video and above the Comments capsule.

   Do NOT use HubPages video, nor the video Hub options.  They are far less than desirable in features and functionality.  You will get better performance and flexibility by using YouTube and a regular Hub layout.

   I put videos up occasionally, only if I want the reader to see them, vs. just providing info that's up to them if they want to watch. It's too bad that they don't seem to work well. I don't think they actually HURT your hub but they don't appear to add much. Another problem is that you can't reverse it. Since I do some editing as a hobby, I like to make some videos on occasion.

   Hmm. I've been wanting to do a video hub because I've read that they attract more traffic  and receive better Google rankings. However, I'm totally green about how to make one. If I did, I'd upload to YouTube and then create my video hub from there, but that's just me. Like I said, I'm totally green. I can't even get my audio to work on my YouCam  program. Whatever you choose, I wish you every success---and maybe I can learn from your hub. Blessings!

   OK, I have used neither, but common sense tells that putting it on YouTube is a better idea. Here's why - 1. Do you know which is the second largest search engine after Google? Yes, YouTube. 2. You can embed YouTube video in HubPages, but not the other way around.
