Hub "Possibly" Copied

   Matthew Meyer, Please assist me with finding out if this hub has been copied:

   This happened when I initially published this hub and it ended up being an innocent mistake committed by someone I know who posted the article for our neighborhood association website. Could you check again for me? It also could be volunteers/community service teens I work with as well. I will do some investigating myself. I appreciate your help.
   
   Edit: Also just remembered I wrote the annual grant request application last week and emailed it with links to my articles (the one above and another on community service).

      It does look like the Hub was copied. You can find the site it was copied to on your "Copied Hubs" tab (http://hubpages.com/my/hubs/copied).

   Camille, I just received a curt and to-the-point email from the site where my copied hub was found. I wrote a friendly email to the editor earlier today requesting that the article be replaced with a link if she still wanted to post the article. I thanked her and everything, wasn't mean at all.
   So I'm a little disturbed by this nasty gram. I didn't think it was necessary to file a DMCA before asking the editor to take it down. Seems that I only p_ssed her off. All she stated was "remove this email address from your mailing list." Really? Jeeeez. Did I miss something?
   Also, in my account under "Copied Hubs" it says, "removed location." What does that mean?

      Scratch that last question. I see now that "removed" and "location" are separate columns. FYI, I received my Twitter Updates this morning indicating that when I tweeted this link on 5/15/14, "people loved this link." So I really don't know who copied it. I visited the website mentioned above and didn't see it. Confused.

         Jan, I know how you feel. This process can be a little confusing.
         
         A couple of my hubs are listed on my account page as "possibly copied", but each time I click on the link, It takes me to a blog with no copy of my hub in sight. I was able to find the location of only one and have filed a DMCA on it.

            Hi ComfortB. I just don't want to file a complaint wrongly against the wrong site. Maybe they took it down already, I don't know. But it's not reflected as such with a removed date. I will keep investigating but truthfully, I'm tired already.

                  Just got your email. That's the same site I refer to above that I already contacted and got the nasty gram. I just visited the site again and don't see any evidence of my article. I don't feel right filing a DMCA against a member of my community without more evidence. Maybe they took it down already. I posted on another forum that my gut says this was not done with ill intent because it's not a popular hub with a lot of views by any stretch. I think someone in the community just liked it and posted it. Maybe I'm naive.

   Update: I just sent another email to the site in question, addressed to the webmaster. My gut was correct. It was the same posting from 2012 when I first published the article and received a notice for copied content. I don't know why it's popping up now, a year and a half later. It was innocently posted on Dec 23, 2012 by a member of the neighborhood association to a website. It was removed shortly after that. I believe these two sites are linked. I hope this will take care of it this time. There is no need to file a DMCA at this point.

   Update: My article has been removed, the editor did respond nicely. She didn't apologize, however, for the attitude in the first email but so what. Glad this has been handled and the confusion is over, without having to file a DMCA. I had a feeling it wasn't necessary. This is not a popular hub with a whole bunch of views. Thank you, Camille Harris, for your assistance.
