A New Glitch!

Today, I hit the "answer this question" button on the Q&A page, regarding a question about 'favorite poets,' and instead of giving me the box to type in the answer, it bounced me out to the front page.

Thinking I had perhaps had my mouse in the wrong place, and hit a different thing in error, I tried again, this time paying very close attention to where I was clicking....and got exactly the same result!

    Sigh....

Hmm, where did y try it - HubPages, email or Profile page? I just tried it (in all three places) I waited and stayed at the answer box. Perhaps it was just a computer or Internet glitch and you should try again.

        On Hub Pages.
Tried it twice.  The answer box never showed up--it just bounced me out to the front page.

Hey, Dzy, write team@hubpages.com and send it to Matt. He is the one who got us through the SLOW feed.

Were you using a computer, a laptop, or a cellphone/iPhone/iPad/Wi-Fi, etc.? Is this your regular usage?

Using my regular desktop PC, and yes, my normal usage....I don't own a so-called "smart" phone, iPad (this house is an "i-free zone"  LOL) ... I am hardwired into our connection, and using my normal browser (Chrome).

I also use a desktop and Chrome. This morning my antivirus (Avast!) was finding problems, I paid no attention. I found a forum today about HP having bad rep on Google due to Avast users. Your 'glitch' may be as small as that. Some program, defender, firewall, etc.., is the cause.

I don't use 'Avast,' we have Webroot, and I've not done a search for my own hubs, so don't know that it would show HP as  'bad' site....

No. I was only saying that maybe certain software/malware in your computer caused the problem. Did you try it again on a new day?

Aggghhh!!!!   ***screaming and ripping out hair at constant suggestions that it's 'malware' in my computer!!***  I've taken all the advice, and added all the anti-malware software, ad-blockers, etc.  on top of my existing anti-virus program.
I have downloaded nothing else in the last several months...and, this does seem to be an intermittent problem.  I've had it happen before; this is just the first time I've posted an inquiry about the matter.

I have had things I clicked on bounce me away from them on HP and I have resolved it by one of the 2 following methods.

      1.  Sign out of HP and then sign in again.  If that doesn't correct it . . .
      2.  Sign out of HP and restart your computer.

One of these has always worked for me in the past, but of course there are no guarantees.

I believe I read a while back that your computer is obsolete and you are finding it harder and harder to make things work and to access different things on the Net.  That is common on computers that are obsolete -- just plain too old, and whose operating systems can't be updated anymore.

I have the same problem myself right now.  Couldn't file my taxes online like I usually do this year, Picture Monkey told me I have an antique and need to update (which can't be done, I've already researched that cheapest of solutions), and the NY Times tells me my computer is too old.  Even Yahoo mail is giving me a ration as are other sites.  Eventually I won't be able to access anything unless I update (in my case replace) my computer.

Been there and done that before, so I know how it goes.  I'm just hoping to make this last as long as I can before I have to fork up all that money for a new computer.

Good luck and let me know if either of these suggestions help.  I hope one of them will and neither one costs you anything but a couple of minutes time.  Where's the harm in trying?  They work for me.
