Oh No! Obamacare Challeneged in Courts - Again!

   Now what? In another episode of the ongoing struggle to implement Obamacare - another unfavorable court ruling, (for the Obama administration),  is just one more hurdle - to be jumped or circumvented.
   
   The gist of the topic: A DC Appeals Court has ruled that subsidies granted through the Federal Health Exchange were not covered by the subsidies provisions of the ACA. The court ruled that the healthcare law only authorized premium subsidies for plans purchased through state exchanges.... Oops....

   Of course this issue will almost certainly wind its way to the Supreme court, but there are probably a couple things that are safe to assume;
   
   1. Nobody is going to push for repayment of Federal Exchange subsidies already granted and paid.
   
   2. The administration will continue with business as usual and the Republicans will be scrambling to make hay from this Gotcha!
   
   So... what should be done to correct this legislative Oops!
   
   I say, the intent of the law was clear - offer subsidies to all that qualified, but I would bet that it was worded the way it was for some financial PR reason to make the law look less costly than it really is. And that gimmick appears to have bitten the Dems on the butt!
   
   I also say - the Republicans will make a big mistake using this technical illegality to further obstruct the laws implementation - it will be citizens that get hurt and pissed-off - not politicians!
   ps. I am against Obamacare as passed, but I am also against pure political maneuvers that leaves citizens in the ditch.
   
   And I further say, the legislators should pass a fix to the problem with the law's wording - get the citizens out of a hostage situation,  and then fight it out, pro or con, by whatever direction, means, or methods that were being pursued prior to this revelation.
   
   Just publicizing the real reason for the wording used should give Republicans enough fuel to continue their fight.

      EXACTLY!!  I am so sick of political maneuvering by either party to modify, change, repeal etc. what the other party did I could puke.  The ONLY thing that group of idiots knows is party politics as the rule of the game.
      
      Plus, I agree with the rest of your post, too.

         Of course, the main reason for this is political gamesmanship, the concern of the people are at the very bottom of the list.  Republicans and Democrats are doing the political tango; ultimately it is the people who will suffer in the end.  Well, that's nothing new and par for the course as far as Washington D.C.  politics go.

            Our "leaders" are nothing but puppets for the party rulers, just as you say.  They don't even understand the meaning of that word ("lead") anymore.

   If the GOP were smart (and for some of their ranks, that is highly suspect) they'd get ahead of this now. Pass their own version of a fix while making it clear that the original wording was to hide the real cost of these subsidies.
   Leapfrog Dems at their own game.

      That was my point too. I think there is a valid point o be made by asking the Dems to explain to the American public just why such a carefully crafted act could contain such a boneheaded  mistake - if it wasn't for the purpose of hiding costs.
