Violations not clearing

    Hello Hubpages!

I have started on editing my articles to reduce the number of affiliate links in them so they fall within Hubpages rules.
Does it take some time for the violation notices to clear? I have cleared the extra affiliate links from a couple of articles so far, but the warnings remain.

For example, the violation message states there are four affiliate links in this Hub, when in fact, as you can see, there are two. One hyperlink and one Amazon module.
I am also getting a violation notice that there are three affiliate links in this Hub, when in fact there are just two (again, one hyperlink and an Amazon module) - another link in the hub is not an affiliate link.

How long does it take for these violation warnings to disappear after the issue is corrected?

    Thanks for the help! smile

(Note: No links in this post are intended to be promotional. The links included are examples of where violations on my hubs have not cleared.)

Try just making a cursory edit to that the Hub.  That should trigger reprocessing of the links, which must have failed for some reason the first time.  We are looking into why that might be happening now.

The skull warnings in my account are updated by using the "check for violations now" button at the bottom of the page (and also periodically), but the warnings in the black box at the top of the hub (when you are just viewing it, not editing) should update in real time or near real time as soon as you've made edits.  So that's actually a better place to look.

        Hey Paul,

Yes, the violations were showing as both the red skulls in "My Account" and the box above the hub itself, even after editing. I tried editing the hub a couple of times but nothing changed.
I just tried again, however, this time I added an extra space at the end of the last sentence in the first text module and re-saved. This time the violations cleared.

It appears that just removing the hyperlinks doesn't trigger the violation flag to remove themselves either in real time or by hitting the check for violations button. But making a physical change in that text module (eg adding a space/another word) then re-saving does remove the flag.

Issue resolved. Thanks for your help! smile
Raises a cup of tea to all.

I was having a similar issue, and the edit a text module and adding a space trick worked for me too. The violation warnings cleared right up.

Have you clicked the Check for Violations Now link at the bottom of your hub list? I did that after cleaning up one of my transferred articles, and the violation was removed from the list.

      Hey Lisa,

Thanks for pointing that out. I thought that was just another key/legend, didn't realise it was actually a button.

I clicked that. The second Hub I linked above is now clear of violations, thank you. smile
However the first one linked in my post still has a violation warning, still claiming there are four affiliate links instead of two. sad

Thanks for pointing that button out. It worked for one of the Hubs. smile
Wonder how to get rid of the false violation on the other though? hmm

Have you double checked image attributions etc to ensure the problem is resolved?  if so send in an email asking for manual review.

I actually found that I had to log out and back in to get the violations to disappear. That worked for me. I am wondering if they have it programmed to update only after you do that so that a Hub you are working on does not change for anyone that happens to be viewing it while you are working?
