   I noticed that after getting my hub published, i got 3-4 visitors from search engines. The second day i checked to see the hub ranking in google, it was far from my expectation. Do my newly published hubs have to wait for months to get good ranking and why was it doing very well the day it was published? I'm so confused.

   It is possible for articles to rank immediately they are posted if the topic you have chosen has low competition. It has happened for some hubs I have written especially those on topics currently in the news.

      A great resource is to visit Google's webmaster tools and set it up if you haven't already.  If you look under Search Traffic, and then Search Queries, you can see not only the keywords that a person typed to come to your site, your [user].hubpages.com domain, but the average position your website was in the ranking results as well.

      You are writing in English on a website that is visited mostly by Americans.  You are in Lagos.  I see all your reviews of "best" things, and I think, how can this man who lives all the way across the world actually know about these things?  I think you write about a lot of things you have never seen or used.  A lot of your Hubs seem to just repeat quotes or messages or pictures that are already all over the Internet.
      
      If you are going to write and successfully get traffic, you need to write about things you really know how to do, that other people want to know about too.

         I think you could get great search engine traffic from Nigeria, but the only related hub I could find on your profile page was about the top ten tourist attractions. Look around. There is probably a lot to write about in your area.
         I have a hub on Brazilian Dog Names, Brazilian Parrot Names, How to raise Guinea Fowl in the Tropics, and many others that are specific to where I am located. They are all rated at the top. Do you think a person in the US would be able to write something as specific for Brazil?
         Even if you do not have a lot of traffic on pages about Nigeria, they will be rated a lot higher in the search engines.

      It all comes down to competition, keywords, and research.  If you were writing about wedding photography a keyword of "Wedding Photography Tips" might do 10 times the traffic of one with "Cool Wedding Photoshoots" as it's keyword even if you changed nothing else about the hub.  You want a keyword that will get you higher up in the rankings, but still be searched for regularly.  Once you know that, make sure your hub adds something useful.  If you're just rehashing what others have said, you'll never get great traffic.  You want a person that comes to your hub to actually learn something from your experiences that they wouldn't get somewhere else.  It's best to write about things that you're passionate about or have some real expertise in.  Even if it doesn't pay well, don't let it stop your enthusiasm for sharing your passions with others .  On the other hand, if you're just writing for the money, that is going to show through... and if you don't care about what you're writing about, others won't care about what you've written either.

      Try writing in areas where you have special expertise or real life experience.  They may be smaller niches but writing what you know gives you authority and so lets you easily beat the competition.

   There are addons that you can got for each of the browsers.  When you are on a site, you can click on it - this will show you the Google Page Rank, Alexa Rankings, etc.  I have installed the one for Firefox called SEO analysis.  It gives me a quick view and is ok.  I use firefox as my main browser so it will have to do.  There is one that comes installed automatically with Chrome - the button is to the right of the URL bar.  It has a bar with a question mark on top of it.  If you click that button you will see so much information about the page you are looking at.

    1st why it was doing well on first day, i think because it was fresh (new) how to get traffic? well you can share your page on social networks, facebook, google+ twitter, pin, etc and add a good abbreviation to your page on summary this way it will get easy to find in search engines like google.
    maybe you are experienced than me, but here is a quick tip, try to find a subject to write about that there is not much of it on search engines, and you write it well, even if it took you a whole week + add pictures this way you add more interest on you.
