Search engines won't index my hubs.

I'm quite baffled, since I have read that typically Google is supposed to index hubs within 24 hours. It's been about a week since I first submitted my hub, and it still has not been indexed by Google or Yahoo. I've even submitted it to Digg and social networking sites, but -- nothing. Oddly, my hub user name and my Digg submissions are both coming up in the results, but not the actual hub itself.

Any suggestions? I just can't understand why none of my hubs are being indexed. I've never had this happen before with any other site as popular as Hubpages -- usually my submissions are indexed within the same day.

I've noticed this too, my last eight hubs haven't had a single visit between them, when I joined 4 months ago all my hubs were indexed and usually fairly high in Google within hours (or a day tops), then they'd vanish for a few days, then return.  The last eight published have all died a horrible death.

Sometimes it just takes time, as long as your hubs have original content, they will eventually get indexed. For instance, your Hard drive hub is already cached.

Also, sometimes it can take a little while for the page to show up in Googles Index, even though they have already crawled it.

Has anybody noticed that their search ranking has decreased? I'm just curious if Hubpages has lost some of their standing with Google.

I have only been here a very short time and all, but I like Hubpages best over the other sites for various reasons. However, I tried posting a similar article to what I have posted here to another site and got much quicker indexing and much better ranking.

    Just curious...

My guess would be yes, I love HP but even in the short time I've been here some of the HP magic I'd heard so much about seems to have vanished. sad

Glad it's not just me then! The 30 day challenges have taken their toll on the good-hunoured fun and banter, and my most recent hubs don't seem to be getting any traffic other than hubpages.

It's pretty odd, the first few hubs I wrote after joining HP got traffic almost immediately and they were very poor hubs.  The last eight I've published haven't had a single hit outside of HP.  I'm not claiming them to be great works of literature, but at least two out of the eight aren't sub-standard, and should be getting something. smile

Somebody will be along shortly to say 'if you don't like it leave', having wracked up a few handy back-links now I have to ask myself the same question, is time at HP well-spent or mis-spent? (in terms of increasing revenue).

I'm still getting good traffic on my hubs. Are you using good SEO, backlinks?

I wonder if all the lingerie / half-naked Indian-chick copyright-violation bonanzas have caught up with hubpages...

    Hmmm....

    Now go read my hub!

The only thing you can do is to create some quality backlinks to your hub and wait for google to index it.. We can't day anything about Google Algorithms..

I haven't noticed a change in rankings/traffic on my hubs.  Search engines are sending my newer hubs a good amount of traffic as well.   A Hub created on 7/4 has received 900 SE hits and a Hub created on 7/10 has received 300 SE hits between yahoo and google.

Oh, and it is summer, when traffic usually tanks for awhile. You have to work really hard to keep traffic and sales up in July and August.

My traffic isn't bad, it does seem to be taking about 3 days before my hubs get found by Google though. But, they are eventually found.

One reason for a recent decline maybe if you have pictures on your Hubs.
Google revamped their image search and (I heard) cut around 40,000 pics.
I know some of my blogs went from 7000+ views a day to around 100.

As far as getting indexed, have you tried submitting directly to Google?
You can submit to Google, Yahoo and Bing directly now.

I am finding this too...I wrote 3 related hubs, linked all with keywords, all content rich 750+ word stuff, and none of them are indexed! Crazy!
