When I said: "Why so serious?" I meant, why is no one else ever using emoticons here like smile and big_smile . Ever since I joined hubpages, I was the only one who used those emoticons. It's so rare to see them in the comments. It's like everyone's so serious. Hehe. big_smile

I want to use one emotion smile your question is really funny and yes it poses a very good issue-Why we are so serious? I guess our hectic work schedule has made us like that. Whatever would be the reason, I promise you I will try to inject some humor in my future writeup

LoL. If you go to the home page, you'd rarely see someone using an emoticon. wink

When you click on reply, click on formatting on the bottom, right corner. They cover everything from smiles to bigger smiles, to smiles with glasses.

I want MORE emoticons. I'm a multifaceted person. Do I smile with teeth? Do I frown sometimes? Yes, I do! But sometimes I give the thumbs up! Sometimes I put on a brave face! Where's the emoticon for that?! WHERE'S THE BRAVE FACE EMOTICON, CHEEKY KID?!!!

      (However winking should be outlawed.)

I have been poked with a stick in the past for using too many emoticons. A cross I have to bear. And how the heck are you, Sed-me? big_smile

It is a cartoon showing stickman trying to tidy up annoying emoticons.  No real comment on anything, just thought it might add something to the conversation.

I thought he was spraying them them with a hose, then it occurred to me that they'd make good golf balls.

I use them all the time in the forums, Cheeky Kid, but not in comments. I don't think you can in comments. I will occasionally use this :-) in comments but I do think comments attached to someone's work should look more professional. hmm (my favorite emoticon)

Brilliant cartoon as always Mr Ewbie.  I personally dislike the little blighters as, if you give them any space, they will invariably get uppity and, before you know it, start showing off big time.
