It is very frustrating to go 36 hours without my account page updating.  This has been going on for several weeks.  Multiple users have posted about the problem and ye4t there is still no resolution.  Is this the best we can expect from HP since the acquisition of Squidoo?

This has been an ongoing problem and we've not been given any answers other than admin is aware of it. We're told to go to Google Analytics. If that's the case, why have the reporting that is available to us in our accounts?

Seems to me HP has bitten off more than they can chew in the Squidoo acquisition.

Most of my frustration stems from the silence of HP staff on this issue.  There should be someone I can contact regarding a technical issue rather than starting a forum topic and hoping they see it.U;m sure HP will bounce back eventually from the acquisition but I am afraid a lot of good writers are going to bounce somewhere in the meantime.

Hi I just wonder did hubpages have a problem with updating the account stats, and page views before, prior to last month? I have not had any movement on my page view stats in over a month, yet Hubpages ad a daily earning to my account???? I am not at all accustom to not being able to track individual articles for traffic, and how I earned my revenue. I have Google Analytics, however it is frustrating not having some way to compare  Hubpages against Google. Has Hubpages had these glitches before it acquired Squidoo? I can't seem to get any answers from Hubpages. Hopefully a long time Hubpages member can answer this question.

Yes, there were such problems before HubPages acquired Squidoo and before the server change, but not often, and I seem to recall them being resolved more quickly.

Yes, the stats did get stuck from time to time, but it always got fixed within a few days.

Mine has been out for 3 days as it says on my account page. I have not seen any updates since Wednesday afternoon.

Mine are still frozen, and it is very disappointing! Google shows an uptick, but Google and HP numbers never match, so I'd like to know where I am based on what I have expected to see from HP stats.

They keep telling me that Analytics is more accurate but I need to see HP stats. HP pays me and it just seems weird that they are able to calculate earnings without the stats. I need to see my views toi be sure that I am getting the right amount of pennies each day. Three days is too long not to know what my views are....just saying.

I questioned which stats are used to calculate earnings on a forum thread a while ago, and have looked all over the help section, but found no answer. I actually don't think the stats on our stats page are used to calculate earnings, although they could be updated according to the ones that are, whichever they may be ... I'd be very interested to know how it works.

HP stats and earnings are an enigma to me...lol. I just want my stats updated as often as possible. Three days is too long!

I'm not sure if what I just said makes much sense, but yes, three days is too long!

I am not sure if it made sense...sorry. It's just that when it comes to traffic stats vs earnings I get all stupid. it seems like rocket science to me. I don;t understand why there is a separate stat that calculate my earnings. I understand that 1000 or so views will get me around 3 dollars. That's all I understand from this and that some articles will earn me more based on what the advertisers pay. Above that my mind goes blank!

Matthew addressed it in a similar thread a while back. He says they're done by different systems. http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/125595#post2652872

HP should make it a sticky so people don't worry that the lag in traffic reports means a loss of earnings.

Thank you for that, Calculus-Geometry! They ought to put that in the help section, and maybe expand on it a little for the more curious.

Makes you wonder.  HP knew what it was getting before the move.  It seems that if they decent IT people, etc, common sense would have tld them their servers would not handle everything.  Seems like they did not prepare ahead of time.   This is like buying the contents of another store, to move to your store, run ads then tell people sorry, but we don't have stock out yet because we didn't get the shelves or make the space for it.  But be patient because we are working on it. Yeah right!  We have heard we are working on it since the Acquisition.

I just did some checking.  Weebly ranks in the 200's for Alexa while HP ranks close to 600.   Weebly ranks 8 with Google page rank checker while HP ranks a 6.   Although Weebly is a create your own site, you can still use Adsense,Chitika, etc.

I think it's been more like 72 hours without statistics update.  It also seems that earnings is delayed today as well, unless I really made 0 cents yesterday!  Can someone confirm this?

Check out Redgage. Comparable site and you can make money from a greater variety of content. They don't seem to have issues.

    1. Solaras profile image95
Solarasposted 9 years agoin reply to this

I found Redgage to be awful.  Buggy things would not load half of the time.  Then I had a problem getting into my account and pressed their reset password button, which did not work.  In fact it reset the password, but did not tell me what it was, and their support did not know how to fix it.  So I am locked out of that account forever. I never made a cent there anyway.

My bank hasn't updated since December last year and I have emailed them about it several times.

Just checked and no update since December 1, 2013.

Thanks Linda, I can forgo being more neurotic than usual today.  Aubrey, I will definitely check out Redgage.  I've been spending most of my free time to write on InfoBarrel.  Their interface is a bit tedious to use, but once you get the hang of the nuances, it becomes more bearable. Every Hubber should read the articles pertaining to Hubpages on Infobarrel, it is scathing!  smile

Also, let's give HP a break, okay they let their unbridled greed get the better of them, but I'm sure they'll bounce back eventually.

I was raised by the High Priestess of Cat - she is appalled by the dogs, and occasionally deigns to pat them clumsily on the head.  That is Dash at 2.5 weeks old in the photo, and yes they look like guinea pigs at that age.  lol.  You are correct, more of a dog person than cat, more of a cat person than god...
