Just something I noticed and thought I'd share...

   I unpublished two hubs a couple weeks ago I believe. Both had hub scores in the mid 80's. Those two unpublished hubs now have hub scores of 69 and 70. I'll leave it to others to speculate as to why. I just thought I'd give a heads up as to what happens when one does that. Too many variables for me to say if it affected my hub score average. As of today, both hubs are now in delete mode. It will be interesting to see if my hub score average is affected when they disappear tomorrow. Meanwhile, all is well.

      One possibility may be that they are waiting to see whether you are going to delete or edit both of them. If they are both deleted then that will most likely lower your score. If you edit both of them and republish them then it will most likely raise the score above where it was, depending on the content added. If you delete one and edit/republish the other then it will most likely only raise the score slightly above where it is now.
      At least that is the first thing that comes to my mind but I do not know if it is correct.

         I guess it comes down to if the average still contains the 80's or the now 68 and 70. Stay tuned...

   I had an 89 before I published my 10th hub. It dropped to 87 when I published it. Now it's down to 83. How does all this work? I didn't have it this low even when I first joined four weeks ago. What does it mean, anyhow?

      The 89 to 87 is easy. After you published your first Hub your score dropped due to the Hub going through the QAP and being rated. When all is settled down and your new Hub gets a score, then your Hubber score should slowly crawl back, depending on the Hub score.
      If during the 83 you are still publishing, then it is the same story. It may also be due to the score of your first Hub. Each time that you publish the same happens until they have a general area for you - once you get: a good amount of Hubs published; become active in the community (leave comments, reply in forums & Q/A; etc.). Learn as you go, just ask questions.

   When i edited and published 11 of my Squidoo transfers my score was 83.  I published one more hub and it dropped to 81 then came back up to 82 and the next day to 83.  The next hub, it dropped back to 81 and has stayed there.  I haven't been very active in the past 2 weeks and am not sure how the hubs are scored, but the individual scores are dropping too.  Probably has something to do with views and comments.  I just keep on publishing and interacting when I have time and enjoy being a part of Hubpages.

   Both of my deleted hubs went away after the designated 24-hour period. My hub score average did not move one whit. Conclusion? Whatever permanently unpublished/deleted hub scores do when so categorized, the hub score average completely ignores them. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
