   California - the most 'progressive' state in America - is in trouble right now. They have been facing rainlessness during the last few years - and they are quickly running out of their ground-water storages and reservoirs.
   
   The situation might worsen if they don't get a good amount of rain in the coming years.
   
   
   
   It's a real 'eye-opener' when we consider the fact that even today ~ after all these 'scientific and technological developments' ~ how desperately we need the cooperation of "Nature" ~  to thrive and survive on this planet.
   
   [I wish that situation improves soon there. It does, often and in all places where people are facing difficulties. Life is positive, in the end. Love & Peace.]

      Positive thoughts for more rain, please.
      We had a reprieve two days ago… a good solid rain all night! I can't tell you how refreshing it was and how beautiful everything is again here in LA.… such a relief!
      Nature doesn't need us. We need nature.
      But, it would be nice to be able to somehow funnel excess water from other parts of the nation to our reservoirs!
      ...or filtering enough ocean water for this entire area... Wouldn't that be amazing?

   While California could certainly use some (or a lot of) rain, the fact is that they have all the water they could ever use, right off the Western border.
   
   They just don't want to pay for it.  It takes energy, lots of it, to collect that water and California doesn't want power plants.  The NIMBY attitude is alive and well there.

         Or coal or gas or oil or solar or even a wood burning boiler.  California will not allow power plants to be built - most of it's energy is imported from other states and the percentage rises each year.  In fact, a new gas power plant went in not too far from me with the stated purpose of supplying Californians with the electricity they want but not the plant.  NIMBY
