I write a lot of recipe hubs for diabetics and gluten, grain-free people. I keep getting this annoying Ad on all of these hubs stating there are five food you should never eat, and it shows a banana getting progressively ripe. Many of my recipes use bananas since they are very nutritious, full of fiber and work great as a base of the recipes.
I clicked on the ad once to see what it is all about and it never even mentions bananas. It really aggravates me that it might be turning off my readers before they even start.
Can I ban this add from my hubs?
You can set some preferences in your AdSense controls, but those preferences will not be in effect during HubPages' ad code timeshare.
I have some strong feelings about some ads myself, and while I can't control them all the time here, I do have my own preferences set to block things to which I strongly object.
Thanks for the quick response. Where do you set your own preferences. I've probably been there all ready but with so much going with transferring from Squidoo, I can't remember.
Mouse over the ad to see the address and add it to blocked ads in your adsense. I once did this and the ad disappeared for good.
It might take some time before the annoying ad is gone.
Maina has already given you the correct answer.
Thank you both. I will give that a try.
LOL bananas are a wonderful source of protein, sugar and potassium. I can't imagine them being a food we shouldn't eat.
But some idiot and their fad diet...
You might want to consider a "banana facts" or "are bananas bad for you?" hub.
What next? They'll tell us breathing is bad for us.

I got into an interesting discussion on another thread, and thought it would make a good thread itself. The question of the day is how do you feel about other hubbers clicking on an ad in your hubs?Personally I really don't see a problem with it as long as the ad interests them from a good quality...

I put this in the "answers" section and it actually should've been posted here. Many of us may be not performing to our fullest potential because we haven't taken a critical eye to each others' content. I would like to offer you some constructive criticism. If you have a hub or...

There are tons of hubs on keyword selection and the various tools one could use to make the process easier. But, like most things 'net - they are mostly copies of copies of copies or poorly strewn together theories by intermediate writer-marketers ..So I ask... what was truly masterful, what made...

I have just discovered that the 'ad levels' option has been changed on HubPages in a way which really restricts flexibility for Hub page writers. Instead of having the options for 'high', 'medium', or 'low' level advertising, or 'no ads' at all, we are now just being given the options, 'ads'...

You've "gotta" love this ad, on one of my Hubs. Of course, it is the one that follows you down the page!

Just saw a Drano ad for the first time. Pretty in your face and obnoxious. May have been less noxious if it wasnt on a hub about kids toys So are these full pagers only appearing on HP's impressions? Have you seen them? What do you think ?, Im feeling like I would be instantly turned away and...
