I guess it must have just been conditioning that made me worried about editing former lenses. I was worried they would fall afoul of some weird filter or that they'd fail QAP and I'd fall into a vicious cycle of tweaking and tweaking and tweaking the words to meet some unclear and undefined standard. My concerns were stressful.
But you know what actually has happened when I've gone ahead and edited my former lenses? Their hub scores and views go up and my hubber score increases even if all I do is delete the nonsense artifacts like capsules without content in them that came over in the transfer.
It's amazing how being used to one mode of operation can cause one to unnecessarily fear similar modes in situations in which there is no evidence for them.

+ So very true. It must be a great relief to have the edits done and see positive results. Your hubs look good. I enjoyed reading the one about Science. Although I don't write about it, I'm also a science nerd after I took an Oceanography class in college. It changed everything. Best~
I know how you feel! Since I finally updated all Hubs, it has been a nice knowing what a problem is, not just guessing. I also appreciate knowing when a link is broken
I really like the hubpages goals and advice on what needs to change. Final days at Squidoo was all guess work.
We all worry from time to time when we make edits on our hubs. Will it pass the filters, or will some mean rater reduce our score? Will we delete something that Google likes or add something it doesn't and our traffic will stop or never come?
It is worrisome, but I decided that I will just write for the reader and hope for the best. HubPages has a reasonable policy when it comes to what it accepts and doesn't and the rules are clear. I'm not sure how reasonable Google is, but I figure if I do something that dramatically reduce traffic, I just have to remember what I did so I can change it back!

I'm not knocking anybody (or maybe I am) but I have seen several "Hubs" that transferred from Squidoo that are composed of nothing more than very thin content and a whole bunch of merchandising links (and even one lady who pimped her own Etsy page multiple times in her "Hub")....

It's been several weeks now since my lenses were transferred over here to HubPages. I have to say, due to illness I've not accomplished nearly what I hoped to so far in terms of editing my lenses into Hubs. I have focused on the ones that have been labeled as violations (usually too many Amazon and...

I keep on getting hubs idled despite tweaking them, changing titles and adding better keywords. I have got used to moving them to other sites such as Wizzley, Xobba and InfoBarrel but it seems to be an ongoing problem. If I keep on moving my idled hubs eventually I will hardly have any left!

I'm experiencing a traffic drop. I believe it is because of what this thread is talking about... http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/112459 When it comes to ranking, there are just too many whims of fate... And Happy Thursday! 4:30 AM, USA, West Coast.

Greetings fellow hubbers! My hub about chronic pain used to have a nice score in the 80's and since tweaking it a few weeks ago, the score is stuck in the 70's. I think it was over-tweaked and now I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. Please, I humbly ask for your opinions to give it the "Extreme...

An ongoing topic I've seen over the years I've been on Hubpages is "How do I make my low traffic hubs better."I saw it again today in a Hub Pro thread (if you haven't already, should definitely opt in - it was a fantastic experience.)My best advice to anyone who is writing online is:If it...
