I came across this website http /www.tpu-shield. com/p/Sports_and_Recreation___HubPages_com and am not sure if it is ok or is it doing something it shouldn't?
Someone with knowledge of these issues could quickly answer OK or NOT?
I found it, but I did not go anywhere near it. Any website that steals the name of another might do other unethical things as well. Better safe than sorry.
And I've now discovered it appears to be a China website.
If you Google "tpu-shield.com" (without all the HubPages stuff added), the first Google search result is in what looks like Arabic. (edit: Google sez it's Persian.)
...So it could be a site cloning HP in the local language of wherever they're based. Or perhaps they're a front for Al-Qaeda.
Either way I'd stay well clear of it.
You are right. With my eyes, I mistook it for Chinese. Your post made me go back and break out the magnifying glass.
What purpose does a cloned site have? Is it a positive, negative or a don't know kind of site? Is it possible to flag them up in any way, shape or form with Google? I'm clueless but would like to know why a big effort has been made to clone, if that's what it is.
Warning: I was still signed into HP when I tried to see what this site is. It seems to be a fake HP site. The warning is, that if you are signed into HP, and then click on this site while there, you actually can pull up your own HP account. I got out fast.
If you actually went there, I'd advise to do a complete security check/cleanup now. And Persian is a synonym/subset of Iran.
What shall we do? Just ignore it? Is that the best policy? What if the whole site is cloned? What does that mean? I have no idea about these things.
I reported this to HP. I also reported what happened when I went to the site. Hopefully they will take a look into it!
paradigmsearch: I am running virus scans, dumping cache etc. I am going to change my password as well.
No purpose. Just some random a**hole looking for content to fill his site without having to do the actual work himself.

Just curious, but does anyone have experience with this? How'd you do it? Did you tell Google the article moved somehow or do anything else fancy? Or did you just copy, paste, delete from HubPages, and wait for Google to catch up?Im guessing there might be some duplicate content penalties from...

I'm so angry. Today I got the little red circled C warning me my content was stolen. A quick scan in the plaguirism checker showed that someone had copied one of my game guides word for word onto their site. Do they not realise that just adding "Source: (link to the LevelSkip article) doesn't...

Is there a way to get rid of unwanted traffic sites that attach a link to our hubs without our knowledge? I try to individually monitor my hubs for suspicious traffic and have written two letters to the offender who has sent me 8 visits on one hub this week. Now HubPages has marked my hub with a...

It is discouraging to find yet another website which has copied pictures of my family, my pets, my articles, used my titles and created a website that impersonates me. Today I've already wasted a couple of hours researching their host site and filing the appropriate DMCA Takedown Notices. When I did...
